Typically the 11-12 round picks are more calculated than the end of the draft.
I definitely think they will have money left with their first 2 picks being HS kids and then having a college SR in the 6th round with a 500plus slot value.

Yeah you can look at their picks and clearly see over a million for Hamilton without breaking a sweat. He’s gone.

Nobody has drafted Bauer ? wtf and yet all of our guys are getting picked lol
This is a kick in the nuts.

Talon Haley picked. Vandy has been decimated.

It’s kinda interesting but the scouting reports are all like 5 red flags and “he is a lefty who threw 103”
Posted on 7/14/25 at 3:41 pm to BayTiger13
So we might as well assume Hamilton has agreed to a deal huh?

Cardinals just drafted Kaden Echeman. He was a portal kid committed to Kentucky. Really hope the Cardinals sign him. He's thrown really well this summer.

Losing Hamilton this late in the game sucks. Hopefully we hold on to Noot and Cowan and can make it up by adding Reddemann or Moore.
Maybe bolster the offense by scooping Caraway.

Frick. This feels like a Turtle Thomas class.

Very likely. Typically conversations are had at the break and they know how much they will likely save and be able to throw at a specific player if they agree to it. Just with the 5% over the slot you can go with not losing s draft pick that is 550K extra plus what they will save son some of those top 10 round guys.

A bunch of the top remaining HS kids are flying off the board. Either these teams are cleaning house in the second half of the draft or everyone is taking their fliers early,

Well frick it again. Maybe we’ve got some portal guys who can plug in and we can hope for better luck with next class. Really makes you appreciate how well we got through the last couple of years

unrelated but Grant Jay in the 12th is pretty wild

Difference is Turtle/Smoke didn’t have a plan B. I can guarantee you Jay has been anticipating a lot of what has happened so far.

Really hope it’s the latter.

I see what you’re saying, but if you are gonna come with stats you better have the right ones. Daniel is a great kid and even better player. I see people saying recruit Larson back but I don’t see him wanting to come back to compete with harden/reaves. Hardens bat is for sure better than Larson. Reaves is probably on par. Can’t lie don’t know how the defense compares but can’t imagine drastic difference.

Updating from what notbilly shared earlier. Assuming Hamilton signs, we are still at 36/34 on our roster spots. Assuming we see Stanfield drafted and sign, we'd still need to shed at least one more to get down to the limit. I know it sucks seeing so many go from our class, but unfortunately it had to happen to get us to that number. And that's assuming we're finished in the portal, which we likely won't be.

Totally agree. I can see by the downvotes that didn’t read like I meant it. Jay definitely isn’t surprised as he warned of this, just sucks that we haven’t caught many breaks this year.
