I'm at 49 right now. I'm sure I'm off somewhere. I counted Daniel Harden and left off Marshall Louque and Ethan Plog.

I really like Harden, very toolsy, still putting it together

What is your comp Project? Harden feels like he is flying under the radar in this recruiting class. Looks very twitchy and athletic and is a stat sheet stuffer.

If we’re looking for arms with high level traits to work with we should go all out for Volchko and Taylor

Plog indicated on social media that he will be here in this class rather than next.

I've taken off every guy that has entered the portal.

ETA: That means we differ on like 2 guys I think.

We seem to be more focused on MIF from the position side in the portal, but still on a number of OF. Hard to get a sense of how much interest there is as we have mostly been focused on pitching, but here are a few of the more interesting OF options:

Andrew Wiggins, OF, Indiana, SO, #9
.256/.454/.414/.868, 37R, 4HR, 24RBI, 38BB, 36K, 7-9 SB

Brayden Dowd, OF, USC, SO, #104
.324/.446/.524/.970, 52R, 10HR, 36RBI, 46BB, 43K, 3-6 SB

Damian Ruiz, RF, Lamar, SO, #286
.388/.511/.607/1.118, 76R, 7HR, 46RBI, 50BB, 27K, 14-15SB

If that is the case that would put my number at 50 then.

I thought I took everyone off that is in the portal.

We definitely need some right handed hitting options in the outfield.

Another good point. We had multiple LH options off the bench to pinch hit but hardly any RH ones.

One of my errors is that I didn't have Grant Fontenot on my sheet for next season, so I'm at 49.

(I like to post my number here every once in a while so we go through this check process )

ETA: found my other error, now at 50/34

Who needs more RH DH options when you got big JOHN PEARSON

But man interesting to see his path forward here. I hope he gets into a bit better shape for next season and see if he has a path on the field anywhere in his future like 3B/OF. Think he put on way too much weight going into this season. Was listed at like 215-220 out of high school and he was easily 250+ this season.

Are you counting the incoming transfers?

Yeah.

Everyone who could conceivably be on next year's roster. I take guys off when they hit the portal. I take draft guys off when they sign (or if they're drafted early enough to be a guarantee they'll sign).

It's in order of age except for the last two because I don't have their birthdays. 50/34 at this point is a little misleading because there are several guys that will be drafted and sign pro.

I got the roster to 36 with taking out the 6 freshman who are likely to get drafted high and the juniors who have draft stock like mayers and Stanfield

If the rules still allow for medical redshirts to not count against the roster number, we could be down to 35 with Aase needing to rehab from TJ.

Makes sense. I’d imagine that Jay would love nothing more than to get a Dickinson clone. He saw how meaningful that MIF was this year.

Maybe we find a way to get Stansfield or Frey back for that last OF spot, snag the next DD through the portal, then let the kids on the roster duke it out for 3b and 1st.
