That's when portaling goes wrong
ETA: Similar to the kid from Grambling that transferred to A&M last year and is now heading somewhere else.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Did they actually beat us out as referenced

I love how 'beats out LSU' is more important than the prospects name or stats. That's how you know LSU is the gold standard of college baseball.

We were definitely recruiting him.

Yes we absolutely wanted Mack

He was scared to death of our returning staff. Was worried he would never start.

When the cupboard becomes anemic I guess one has money to spend

Although Tony is always good in the portal, he seems to be on the same war path Jay was this time last year chasing number 2 after a disappointing defending champion season.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Mack still has a lot in the tank. It sounds like he didn’t focus heavily on pitching in high school, but has the athlete/fast arm profile and room to fill out.
I don’t think he’ll ever be on Evans’s level but it’s a similar story.

Similar to us, Tennessee isn't just looking at stat lines to decide if they want a guy. They're looking for traits they can develop.
You know that, I'm saying it for the people that only look at the stat lines.

How real are our chances with Volchko? I know we’re on Taylor. Volchko seems like one of the only arms left you’d pencil in as a starter.

He looks like an Eyanson type, maybe with a little less ceiling

Good luck to him. Wouldn't mind seeing him at Kansas with Fitz.

considering it took this long, it must have been a tough decision for him and likely no bad blood. I can't blame him, Jay isn't going to guarantee him anything, so may have been in his best interest to look for an easier path to playing time.
