We are definitely in need of a 3rd baseman next year. If Reese enters the portal again and we get him, I wonder if that affects Pearson because no way Reese isn’t coming to play any other position than 3rd base. Also, with him being from Texas, I wonder if Texas would be a big player in trying to get him.

Pearson can battle for one of the other spots. Dh maybe vs lefties. Simpson maybe goes to 1st. Dardar to 2b if not other infielders. Or vice versa. Or maybe Pearson waits another year and ph. Vs lefties.

AFAIK he never entered, there was just a rumor he might prior to hiring O'Connor. Then he announced he was staying in Starkville on 6/6.

Do we think Jay is just reinforcing the LHP or that he knows that he is going to have some(Ware, Primeaux??) leave that are on the current roster?

Could be both, but I feel like Jay heavily favors lefties in general. And with LHPs, I think you want more options because it's unlikely they're all going to work out so it becomes a numbers game.
