He wants Travinski to be able to hit all year, not just part of the year.
Honestly, this was the biggest takeaway from that interview for me. That just solidifies that Jay is going to find a place for him in the lineup whether that be putting him at 1B or DH depending on the development of Jared Jones.

I think another issue was just him adjusting to competition. He didn't play many showcase type baseball games against really good competition because of football. He played in 2A baseball in Louisiana so the competition was a huge jump. He is doing well in the Northwoods league. Love the 25BB/16K and also has a .913 OPS. I think another offseason working with Jay and Chief and he can surprise people next season. The size and athleticism is undeniable.
I will be curious to see if he slides into RF and move Pearson to 2B. We have so many talented players in the outfield I think sliding Pearson to 2B similar to Dugas might be the best for the lineup.
1B - Jones
2B - Pearson/Guidry
3B - White
SS - Guidry/Milam/Braswell
C - Neal/Milazzo
LF - Bingham
CF - Kling
RF - Frey
DH - Travinski

I also think Pearson may have to play 2nd to field the best lineup. Long ways to go though.

Normally you would see a move be worked on in summer but Pearson has played all his games in RF/LF/DH. He is listed as OF/IF on the roster though. So that could have been part of the plan and the team he plays for in the cape needs him in the OF more than the IF. I will be curious come fall if/how much he will be worked at 2B. Kling playing with consistency will have a lot to do with the OF/2B position also. If Kling struggles and doesn't show consistency and Frey takes a step up and pushes for time then you can see Bingham in CF and Frey in RF.
Frey also depends on Jones/Travinski at 1B. The depth and versatility of players on the team will be really nice but it will be interesting to watch Jay piece it all together and have to make moves and decision throughout the season.

I agree with this as well. If Jones continues to struggle at the plate then could see Frey introduced at 1B or DH with Jones going to the bench. But hoping Jones takes a big jump in year 2.

I think you’re gonna see Kling and Jones improve a lot in terms of plate discipline
Johnson and Wanaka are incredible at what they do

How has Jones looked at the plate this summer?

Started slow, but has improved.

Sorry if I missed it mentioned prior, is Pearson playing 2B any in summer league?

People keep asking about Pearson playing 2nd base. The one to keep an eye on getting reps at 2nd would be Neal in my opinion

How’s Neal’s recovery going Cano?

I could see that.
I wonder if they'll give him a look in CF as well to go for the full Craig Biggio.

Hmm, I like the Beal at 2nd idea.

3rd - White

LF - Pearson
CF - Kling
RF - Bingham
DH - Frey

Just went through all 19 of his box scores in the Cape and hes only played LF, RF and DH'd a handful of times.

It’s a lot easier to play 4 guys in the OF vs 3 guys at catcher

Might as well slash milazzo and travinski

What do you guys think of our pitching staff compared to the rest of the SEC? And even nationally?

Arkansas’ rotation looks very good. I like LSU and Vanderbilt’s depth more. I think those are your top 3 out in front of the rest right now. Add Wake and Texas into the conversation nationally.
