it’s 240k if you include the 5% over the tax you can go.Without that it’s only $4500. But like I mentioned earlier from people who cover the twins they never go over the tax so we don’t have to worry about that 240k lol

Trav needs to just DH. Don’t want him getting hurt. He’s been pretty injury prone in his time here. We need his bat in the lineup way more than his defense. Especially when you have a healthy Neal coming back along with Milazzo.

I’m sure that’s the plan.

CF Kling
LF Pearson
RF Bingham
3B White
DH Trav
1B Jones
C Neal
SS Guidry
2B Milam

That’s a lineup that can repeat.

If that's the lineup Jay better pull the rabbit out of the hat and get Montgomery. LSU needs a proven big time bat in the middle of that order to really be scary.

I like Bingham but you need one other guy. IMO

The only thing standing in our way is the middle infield being proven. Hell , we’ve got that guy transferring in that has a ton of infield experience and has hit for a decent average. I wish we had a bonafide know commodity at short or 2nd to go with the transfer but Guidry may be fine with reps . The rest of the lineup will be proven guys pretty much

Tanner Reaves is said to be returning to Blinn for his sophomore season.

That and replacing our Golden Spikes, All-American that hit 18 HRs. Shouldn't be a problem though

There was an article a few weeks ago that mentioned he was returning to Blinn, but I don’t know if that’s been confirmed by anything more recent.

I'm kinda surprised there's still no word on late portal entries from any of our guys.

Same, I figured we would have a few players hit the portal. Maybe some of the incoming freshman have agreed to redshirt?

That fastball is so, so good.

Its almost the exact opposite movement of Zach Hess. Hess had natural glove side run. Very good to have in the Closer role. As long as he stays close to the zone he is going to be good for an inning or two every outing.

I think you've got to pencil in Braswell over Milam at this very moment. I don't think you ever pencil in a true freshman before fall practice unless it's Crews or Bregman.

The MIF spots concern me. Having 0 proven guys for 2 spots isn't ideal. Wish we could get 1 at least. The Luke Hill situation is so weird. 2 could definitely emerge though-- I just don't think the math is super favorable. The rest of the offense is loaded.

The pitching is almost fine if we can get Holman and maybe 1 additional quality RHP.

Who are you referring to? Did I miss the name of said player?

Braswell is not "unproven" and I think it is very clear that Jay likes the talent he has for the middle infield and trusts his development program to bring those guys along offensively. And as you pointed out with our offense solidified at the other 7 spots this gives us time for the guys to develop throughout the course of the season to settle in. I like our team's setup.

Moffett had a bad outing last night giving up 4 ER in 1 inning. 3 hits and 2 walks with 2 strikeouts.

I haven't watched it yet. Anxious to see how he bounces back from what is pretty much his first bad outing of the summer.

Moffett. The post I was responding to was an entire post detailing his outing.

Moffett

Braswell in SEC: .253/.346/.385 1hr 16rbi

Luke Hill in PAC12: .250/.336/.365 3hr 19rbi

Read what AZ St's coach just said about Luke Hill. The transfer portal is a pain in the arse to coaches, and despite the thousands of kids that enter, no coach says stuff like that publicly about a player. Everyone wants to talk about this chemistry stuff but for some reason wont apply to Hill. hmmm
