Does anyone else find the rumor that jay told the two coaches that left to look for other jobs, a lot more believable now than when that was posted?

I still find it hard he told them to look for other jobs and they both landed a head coach gig. Maybe but I still don’t think I’m buying it.

I’m leaning I don’t believe it but one things for sure, if your name isn’t tre Morgan , Dylan crews, or Josh Pearson and you played last year for lsu , then your jobs not 100% safe

Off the top of my head, from the 2022 team Berry, Collins, Cooper, Reyzelman, Shaffer, McManus, Priester, Haddad.
On the 2022 commit list on the first page, everyone from Romero down.
On the 2023 list, everyone from Roellig down.
Not sure about 24-25

I think he encouraged them to accept their head coaching opportunity but I don’t buy that he forced them out.
Fitzy was the recruiting coordinator for a very very good class and Kelly made chicken salad out of chicken shite.
Neither of them publicly did anything to deserve getting canned.
So I don’t think JJ wanted them gone but I also don’t think he was particularly worried about them leaving.

I can somewhat see it. Jay said Wes is the best pitching coach in all of baseball and he confirmed he went after him last year, but the timing didn’t add up for Wes. Maybe he got word it was time and recommending guys for open HC gigs. I don’t necessarily believe he told them to just kick rocks

I could see it more for Kelly than Fitzgerald. I don't think Jay had Wes Johnson in the plans back when Kelly took his new job, but I think he knew he could find better.
Fitzgerald is a solid recruiting coordinator and is a great motivator. His job hasn't been filled yet which makes me think his was more unexpected as well

I think it’s not filled yet because he is doing it himself right now. He hired Wes Johnson now because pitchers want to know who is coaching them and as Hurd said when he talked to Wess he pretty much committed at that point. Jay hired him now because he is sealing the deal with the top arms.

I don’t think either were pushed out. I think too many read too deeply into what Jay said about pitching after we were bounced and attributed that to him wanting Kelly gone.
Kelly did a phenomenal job with the talent we had. He went on to be a HC at a P5 School that he previously assisted at. I don’t think that speaks to Jay or LSU pushing him out.
