in this thread, i've learned that former UGA great Lindsey Scott's son should go to LSU over Harvard because his life would be better in LA?

Damn, turning down Harvard would be hard to do...

I knew I'd eventually get a sig out of this thread. I've been sigless for months. Feels good.

Finally, after the first 76 QBs declined to commit to LSU Scott gets his.

Hey why the hell not? Scott is a proven winner and getting him at QB is still better than no QB at all.

If there is even a slight chance of playing football at a professional level, you go to LSU over Harvard. It's not even close. If you're planning on living in Louisiana after graduation, being the backup QB at LSU is probably more valuable than a degree from Harvard.

there is only one person that can resolve this argument of Harvard degree vs LSU backup.
Hatch-siah, you are finally needed.
LSU would have had a better record if hatch played all of 2008. Sure he isn't close to as good a passer as Lee, but he wasn't throwing picks left and rt that lost multiple games.

I'd turn the offer down . Don't want to be somebody's sloppy 4ths. Go to Harvard get the hell out of that dysfunctional state!

we don't beat Auburn in 2008 without Lee

UF: 51-21
UGA: 52-38
Bama: 27-21
Ole Miss: 31-13
Arky: 31-30
also, if Hatch stays in that Auburn game, it's likely an L.

Ego aside.....he comes here, succeeds and goes down as another La legend.

He played against EA this year and looked great to me

got some other good offers. It all depends on what is the highest priority. If it is football, he should accept the offer. If it is a purely academic issue, his field is wide open.
Bullshitd, LSU is free ... There's always grad school. Especially today.
He should accept and I will rejoice!

Offering Lindsey was a reach. It's simply a matter of whether Lindsey feels disrespected in the fact that it took this long for LSU to offer, and views himself as being one of LSU's final backup choices (which, in fact he was, since they couldn't get anyone better), or if he's simply glad to receive an LSU offer. I think it'll be the latter.

this is a huge step for LSU, to offer a QB under 6'. And a step in the right direction. If you're good enough, you're good enough. Next step will be giving him a legit chance to compete for the job and not just taking him, expecting him to be "organizational depth".. That is going to be the tough mountain to climb.
