the injury could force him a bit into that, but I doubt he's planning on going anywhere with the intention of probably not playing in 2026

If he were to consider an arrangement like this, I would think it would be at a school with Kiffin as his QB coach, and a school that has produced 2 Heisman QBs recently that were drafted very early in the 1st round with guaranteed contracts

I mean he will have almost 10 months in between is surgery and the start of the season so probably. He also is very mobile when healthy

If he had not already burned his redshirt, it would be wise to sit out a year and get 100 percent.

Where are you coming up with this shite, Doctor?

Proper Lisfranc surgery has really good success in football players and typically a 6 month postop recovery time.

Keep your BS to yourself.

If LSU pays $3 million for a quarterback with a bum leg, we’re not just stupid, We’re fricked for next year. We need a highly mobile and accurate quarterback who can run this offense, make quick decisions, and get the ball out quickly to his receivers. He’s surrounded by lots of talent. We don’t need another Nussmeier playing injured all year and having the offense look like crap.

He would be approaching 10 months post op. He doesn't have to mobile for fall practice.

Has there been anything hinting that Williams or Bailey from NC State may go into the portal? Or is people just wishful thinking on this?

I’d love for LSU to have either but I don’t won’t to be disappointed if there really isn’t a possibility that either even goes in the portal.

We are likely taking more than one QB from the portal.

Everything we discuss here is figured out by someone else. So should we not have any discussions?

I thought the OP was legit.

Leavitt is a good QB and has tons of potential, but I agree with others that if there are other viable alternatives that are healthy, they should be considered first. You are going to have to take 2 QBs either way with only 1 on the roster for next year, so that doesn't mean you can't take a flyer on him, but most of these kids aren't transferring to compete for a position with another transfer. They are going to expect to be playing and somewhat guaranteed a likelihood of being the starter.

Isn't that the injury Matt Mauck sustained 2002 vs UF? He came back in 2003 but couldn't run like he previously could. He transitioned to a passing QB and did well.

It was a no joke injury as I recall.

Lisfranc surgery repairs severe injuries to the midfoot (Lisfranc joint) by realigning bones and stabilizing them with plates, screws, or suture buttons, often after high-impact trauma or athletic injury. The procedure aims to restore normal alignment, with recovery involving several months in a cast/boot (non-weight bearing initially), followed by physical therapy, and potentially a second surgery to remove hardware, with full healing taking up to a year or more.

Guess it depends on the original surgery and hardware used? Personally never heard if it before this

Wonder if he would be willing to bet on himself by taking an incentive package.
Pay him so much for every game started then bonuses for meeting certain criteria.

This injury is so bad that it sidelined Stingley’s career… oh, wait
