Is there an update on Ohio State transfer CB Jyaire Brown?

Since we lost Richardson to Ole Piss, and CB is a position of desperate need…

Brown would be a good add and depth guy that could compete for playing time and has 3 years left. We’d still need a proven #1 CB type.

Something keeps getting overlooked about the CB room. JK Johnson returns next season. I understand this doesn’t fix the issue and we still could use a CB or two, but Johnson is a good player. You never know guys coming off injuries though.

JK is injury prone and he’s lost 2 seasons because of it. You can’t rely on that.

From what I remember he was maybe our 4th corner coming into the year before the injury. Don’t think he’s some diamond in the rough.

No we don't. Our CB group is in much better shape than many realize. I'd like to see a stud cover guy added. That's it. Zy Alexander is a solid second corner, and we have three rising sophomores who have talent and are gaining lots of experience. We are also bringing in a good freshman class.
Add one stud and you would have a very good group of corners. If you can get a second, great, but it's a luxury not a necessity.

I agree with you, but he could be out half the season next year based on when his injury occurred. If we get a new DC and shift schemes, he could be pretty behind once he does get rehabbed. We probably need to bring in a 2nd ready to play CB to make sure that spot is covered while Alexander is still out.

Deuce quit after 4 games to preserve his redshirt. He may graduate in the spring and look for a new team in the summer. He isn’t going to be on next years roster.
I have no idea on Denver, but he’s shown to two teams that counting on him is a mistake. I’d say he never plays another down here, but again, I know nothing.
