If you had your pick of a 2027 QB, who would it be, Elijah Haven or Colton Nussmeier?

Eli Haven Player Profile

Colton Nuss Player Profile

This is likely going to be a decision LSU will make this upcoming recruiting cycle.

Obviously you’d love to have both but in today’s day and age 1 is likely.

Who do you take?

Honestly, give me Nuss due to his family lineage of professional football players, Texas 6a experience, and obvious connections to LSU.

I think you do what you can to land Nussmeier AND whichever other one you can.....

And hope Nuss history and family ties keep him here.

Nuss and Pop would be my pick. I just think that Haven has all the tools but needs more development and QB development is very difficult if they aren't at a certain level mentally when they arrive. I don't know Haven so I could be completely off base but watching him in the State championship game last year he looked like a kid with all the tools but not really fully in control of the offense. Just sort of running the plays, not commanding the offense and taking over the game.

Too early for me to say. I will be very interested in how his numbers look playing in LA this upcoming season vs in Texas.

You think him being a 16 year old sophomore might have had anything to do with that?

This Nussmeier looks a whole like lot Max Johnson. No Thanks! He looks more like a Tulane recruit than an LSU Recruit.

Hopefully, Elijah is getting some training outside of his high school staff. They are clueless.

Seriously?!?!?! Elijah Haven is the #1 QB in the '27 class. Just because Colton is Nuss bro don't mean he plays like Nuss or has Nuss loyalty and heart. I've seen Elijah play, he's the real deal and I'm praying LSU and Sloan sign him.

I saw Pop command the offense and he was a soph as well.

I have a strong feeling he's going to be a really good college QB.

Haven- higher ceiling
Houston- higher floor

In the days of transfers, who knows what the QB room will look like in 27. If we still have MVB, Hurley, and maybe Bentley the need for a boom QB isn't as big. In that event, spend less and give me Houston/Nuss.

I think if I was the younger Nuss I would want to go somewhere different and carve my own path. Nothing worse than going to lsu and being Garrett’s little brother at every turn

I grew up in church with Pop's dad, I know he's going to be good.
