New HC and offensive staff and complete offense overhaul are tough. Defense returned its coaches and a solid core with nice additions.

If we can get through the first 4 games unscathed:
Clemson
LA Tech
@Ole Miss
A&M
Then there's a stretch of 4 games that we "should" win and have time to gel. By that time the team should be rolling.

A lot of "ifs", but they are going to have to come together quick to build a playoff team.

Need at least 2 Olinemen with D1 starting experience

And some more elite defensive players also with D1 experience

Slow down there. Still a long way to go. Temper the expectations. Just let the excitement come back. That should be the only thing we need.

Stick with that original thought of lowering expectations. I think the team has the potential to be very good but you must remember it’s a first year team and coach. A lot has to click for it to go really well

In addition maybe don’t hype up expectations this far before the season? That’s pretty hard to live up to

That’s basically every team every year now.

Who knows where this team goes. Completely new team and staff. Kiffin’s goal is playoffs. We still need 1 starting each OT/ OG, also impact edge. Regardless how we finish this staff’s goal is playoffs. Not done in portal…hard to predict team chemistry.

It's immensely difficult to basically replace an entire team and have them firing on all cylinders game 1. Chemistry is an underrated part of the team composition. In Lane we trust!

While true, multiple other schools have proved that not only is it possible, but you can turn things around almost immediately.

No doubt! Lane just did it at Ole Miss though.

To everyone saying “hold the breaks,” they’re not dumping millions of dollars into this roster for a rebuild

This is literally what college football is now. There is going to be millions of dollars put into rosters and not everyone is making the playoffs.

We have the players to do it but we don’t know yet if we have the team to get it done.
