I actually am one of the select few on here who really likes listening to him, but that video was a load of bull

What interest has Haven shown for LSU? I mean real interest, not "That's the hometown school"?

I don't hate or dislike him, but just liked Houston better. Both groups of LSU coaches picked going after Houston over Haven as well. I was on here pumping for Houston over all the QBs we were after before Houston signed. I liked his tape far more than the others. I liked the way he threw the ball. I liked his play style. It's one of the reasons I was so happy that we were going so hard for Demond Williams.

Funny enough I was all Haven until I watched baby Nuss, Houston, Haven, and Zeigler all back to back. Haven is the almost perfect exact prototype of an NFL QB, however I want the guy who looks like he'll be a defense's worst nightmare in a Kiffin uptempo offense.

LSU definitely prioritized Houston, but at the same time Haven NEVER came off like he actually wanted to stay in Louisiana. There is at least one Louisiana guy every year who doesn't give a damn about staying home.

Hopefully Haven is the only one.

it was an extremely dumb video

I get saying maybe the kelly staff settled on Houston due to bird in hand....but saying that carried over to this staff is asinine. They've clearly shown they have their own board and aren't afraid to go after any QB

Kiffin hasn't shown a ton of interest in him at OM or LSU. They could end up being wrong on their eval....but scona's reasoning was dumb

Here's the truth: BK and JS were strategically slow-playing Pop, hoping that Haven would make a commitment first. When Haven didn’t commit, Joe Sloan and BK gave Pop the green light to commit. They knew Pop always wanted to be a Tiger; he was their ace in the hole. If you remember, at one point, Pop was strongly leaning toward Oklahoma, then USC with Boobie. He didn’t feel the love at LSU, which was another reason Boobie chose to commit to USC.

Slow playing Pop for Haven is nuts. Can't wait to see Pop in Weiss and Kiffin offense. It's like he was created in a lab for it.

Just imagine how bad it would be from Moscona if Haven went to Catholic High!

I think that after the Underwood fiasco that LSU had to take the first one who jumped in. Can't go 3 consecutive cycles without signing a QB. They couldn't wait on Haven.

Anyway, as long as the portal is around, high school
QBs do not matter.

I think the main thing was (If I have the timeline correct) this was shortly after Underwood spurned LSU. So it feels like they wanted that security in an early commitment. Even though that's exactly what Underwood did and then flipped last minute.

I think both staffs (Kelly's and Kiffin's) preferred Pop over Haven, simple as that.

Once Kiffin got hired its not like there was any push to try and get Haven on board or anything, very happy with Houston. If Kiffin thought Haven was truly better than Houston and it could risk Houston's commitment to get Haven on board he would do it.

Just because ranking sites say differently doesnt mean thats what coaching staffs follow

Who cares. Houston is a better qb. End of story.

It’s amazing how all the “LSU is my dream school” recruits never choose LSU

can't speak for every recruit that has said this, but for Haven that was 1000% telling people things he figured they wanted to hear and were expecting him to say....

from day one, he had LESS THAN ZERO actual interest in ever attending or playing for LSU...

Fans of other schools mainly bama and uga fans think it's sour grapes when they were being told this on social media. Kiffin was pop's first offer. Haven never really felt like we were in the running and pop committed to the previous staff. It just fell into alignment with pop and the new staff already being high on him. No one hates haven but they think something is wrong with the program if the number 1 player in the country doesn't want to stay in his backyard

What was he? In 3rd grade? Those words have not ever been spoken to my knowledge. I’m not sure there’s anybody out there that even thought that.

A quarterback from Baton Rouge going to Alabama makes us look bad.

This could also be an Underwood move and he wants to make LSU outbid the Tide.

This isn’t recruiting from 2000s anymore. It’s all about who’s writing the bigger check, and Kiffin chose to go elsewhere with quarterback. If you don’t trust Kiffin with a quarterback then idk what to tell ya
