How can Redneckville(Ole Miss)be dishing out more NIL money than us? by chili dogsThese kids are going to Oxford for the money. With a few exceptions, that is the only reason.
They have the composite number 20 recruiting class in the country.
Last year they had the number 22 class in the nation.
They are unranked for 2025.
They made a decision to push all their chips in for next year.
This is a one off at best if it even works out.
We are at back to back top ten classes and possibly number 1 for 2025.
There is zero question what program is in a better position for the long haul.

Scruggs is in jail and I don't think they have running water yet or a top 10 class.
Scruggs has been out of jail (served his sentence) since 2014. Sentenced to 6 years in 2008.
Oxford Magazine article on Scruggs from 2017.

Take with a grain of salt and the source but Mosona said our collective had 300-400 donors and OM had 5000 in theirs

You would think that LSU could get their shite together.
The big problem that’s probably happening across college landscape is that people like Graves, Gordon, etc want the recognition (as they should get). Then the casual fans donate to Bayou Traditions. How does the money get donated in such a fashion that some athletes don’t get pissed off because they’re not getting a dime in comparison to others.

If we don’t get the NIL structure organized soon, BK won’t be here that much longer. He’s not like Jay and Kim. He doesn’t like to go booster to booster to politic for the money. He wants everything to go through the collective. Unfortunately our major boosters don’t want to go through the collective and want to have control over which athletes get what money. It’s working for baseball and women’s basketball but not football.
I think a big reason it works for the other sports is due to having much smaller rosters.

What recruiting ranking do you need to say that it’s “working” for football

I dont believe anything that blowhard says. He started we couldn't afford to fire House. Stated last year we didn't pay enough for transfers to get the big dogs yet we were #2 transfer portal class. He's always downplaying LSUs resources. I posted a link yesterday in another thread that USA Today and a firm did a study on college football donations and contributions and LSU ranked 7th in the country (study was from 2005 to 2022).

I wouldn’t call Oxford redneckville . More like yuppyville. Its nothing like the rest of the state

Ole Miss doesn't seem a place with as many wealthy alumni as LSU. Many LSU alum go into owning small oil companies with PETE and oil/gas in the state. Ole Miss has neither. Or go into refining. Miss doesn't have that. Just seems there's more opportunity to get rich while Mississippi has literally nothing besides maybe farms?

Yuppyville in Oxford of 20,000 people in poorest state? I highly doubt there's any six figure jobs for those under 40 in Oxford MS unless you're taking over daddy's car dealership

Heard a rumor they got some balloon loans for the NIL foundation from some Ole Miss grads who thought they could pay them back fast with donation money once they got the players and boosted interest.

I can guarantee you we paid Nuss something to hang around for his turn
Bama came after him last January. Gordon stepped in and got it done. He would have been the starter at Bama this year if he would have transferred.

Is there real data on how much NIL money is being spent?
