Ole Miss is going all in for next year. Doing this is not good for sustained success. Look at their high school recruiting class. It’s very weak. They are paying a ton of money for one shot. Most of these guys will go pro next year and then they won’t have any one to replenish the roster with. So will have to do it again every year versus developing guys.

Could be the same thing that happened at atm, Florida, the Miami. Boosters promise big $ then back out and leave the athlete hanging.

who did we pay for last year? LSU brought in the #2 portal player, 3 of the top 50 portal players, 5 of the top 100 portal players, and 8 of the top 118 portal players. We were the #2 team in the portal last year.

The top 5 in portal rankings last year were

1. Colorado
2. LSU
3. Ole Miss
4. USC
5. Auburn

Of those top 5, LSU had the highest average per player ranking.

To round out the top 10

6. FSU
7. Miami
8. Oklahoma
9. Oregon
10. UCLA

FSU played 2 ranked teams all year. LSU and Louisville

Oklahoma played 3 ranked teams, but two were SMU (Go5) and Oklahoma St who beat Oklahoma.

Oregon played 2 ranked teams. An 8-4 Oregon St, and Washington, who they lost to twice.

Simply speaking, the transfer portal had a negligible impact for most of the top ten, and if you pay attention to CFB outside of LSU and the SEC, you know that outside of Colorado, just about every team that did improve it was more because of a more experienced group or better coaching hires. LSU's offensive improvement had almost nothing to do with the 2023 transfer portal

If we don’t get the NIL structure organized soon, BK won’t be here that much longer. He’s not like Jay and Kim. He doesn’t like to go booster to booster to politic for the money. He wants everything to go through the collective. Unfortunately our major boosters don’t want to go through the collective and want to have control over which athletes get what money. It’s working for baseball and women’s basketball but not football.

It’s a cluster frick. They had to get rid of the first head within 6 months of startup. You would think that LSU could get their shite together.

We should be balls in every year and spending NIL hard. It’s the new face of the game. LSU needs to wake up.

LSU isn’t as committed to winning as others. It’s obvious at this point.

Our donor base is trying to sustain three sports at a high level and it isn’t working out in the era of inflation. Hiring Mulkey was a good move but noone calculated how much money she’d demand for NIL deals and facilities.

Women’s basketball doesn’t turn a profit so let that suffer if need be.

Just because they dress nicer and try to pretend doesn’t mean 3/4 of that fanbase aren’t 2nd gen out of a farm field rednecks.

Well, shut it down then

A drop/PI away from losing with one of their best teams ever. Meanwhile, LSU’s worst D in arguably ever.

Isnt that what Gordon is?

I would think Ole Miss has quite a bit of rich people who went there.

Boosters of programs like Ole Miss are desperate to win. They would do anything to get a taste of what other programs have had. LSU’s boosters are not desperate yet because they’ve won recently…IMO.

Some of y'all spout utter bullshite with such confidence, it's breath taking. I've never seen Dunning-Kreuger run so rampant.
