when asked about taking a player early (in 2020 class) from California

The from California part never happened. That's your speculation and implies greater specificity than what transpired. Foreman's tweet the other day is probably what inspired the question, and maybe O was sending a message to him (don't know why as he could just tell him), but that answer could apply to anyone we wanted that could get qualified by the fall (unlikely).

Not sure if y’all listened to O this morning, but when asked about taking a player early (in 2020 class) from California (has to be Foreman),

He said “nationally” and “states that high school football have been postponed”.

You could imply California but that’s not specifically what he said

Raesjon wants his senior season I believe. Wouldn't be him.

Agree he must stay but that has nothing to do with a scholarship initially. Just laying him walking on out as an option.

You aren’t wrong in theory, but considering we are in on some big time running backs in 2022, I would be comfortable taking just 1 this cycle.

So you could potentially add 2 in 2022 and 2 in 2023 and your RB room in 2023 would have 6 guys including upper classmen Bradford and Kiner, the 2 studs we should sign next season as sophomores, and then a couple incoming freshmen. That’s enough depth.

We have Emery and TDP for 2 more seasons.

Also, the likelihood that we find an immediate contributor from either the 2022 or 2023 recruiting class is high I think. Running back is one of the easiest positions to come in and play early.

I really think our backfield depth is fine just taking Kiner this year.

2019 recruiting class: Emery and TDP

2019 backfield: CEH, Curry (soph), Emery (fresh), TDP (fresh) 4 backs

2020 recruiting class: Tre Bradford

2020 backfield: Curry (junior), Emery (soph), TDP (soph), Bradford (fresh) 4 backs

2021 recruiting class: Kiner

2021 backfield: Curry (senior), emery (junior), TDP (junior), Bradford (soph), Kiner (fresh)
5 backs, 4 if Curry goes pro, but you definitely still have emery and TDP for this season.

2022 recruiting class: 2 studs (Moss for sure)

2022 backfield: this is where this projection gets a little murky. For this model I will assume the worst and say TDP and Emery both leave early for the NFL. In that case we would have Bradford (junior), kiner (soph), and 2 freshman studs. 4 backs minimum

So in my opinion, a lot of whether or not to take another back this year rests on if we think Tre Bradford is going to be able to potentially be our lead back as a junior. If he proves to be a player, we are more than fine in 2022 with him, kiner, and 2 likely blue chip freshman.

I trust the staff on Bradford.

I also believe that between the 4 running backs we will likely sign in the 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes, at least one will be a major contributor in 2023 either as a sophomore or true freshman.

2023 recruiting class: 2 more guys
2023 backfield: Bradford (senior), kiner (junior), 2 sophomores, and 2 incoming freshman. 6 backs or 5 if Bradford goes pro.

That’s how I’d handle the running back numbers

I trust the staff on bradford also but what happens if he gets hurt and its just kiner and 2 freshman.
What if bradford transfers.
You cant go 2 years in a row only taking 1 rb
Every year its we will take 2 studs but its lookong like 2 years in a row they cant even get 2

Could be Raesjon huh?

Raesjon is TBD, but sounds like he’s staying for his senior year.

Foreman is staying in California. Most likely USC. Raesjon basically said that on his OTB interview

2019 backfield: Curry (soph)

Just stumbled on page 6 and not quite certain why there is so much RB discussion in a Foreman thread.

But anyways... Curry was a RSFR in 2019 and will be a Soph on 2020 roster. So if he doesn’t leave early he can be here another 3 seasons, counting to 2022.

I don’t see all 3 of Curry, TDP, and Emery gone in 2022, unless one of them happens to transfer out.

My mistake. Even better for our running back depth though.

Lets say after next year - Curry would be leaving as a senior

After next year Curry will still have eligibility remaining since he was only a RSFR in 2019. He could still leave as an early entrant or via transfer though.

Well I’ll take that over any other SEC school and Clemson

True, would rather him in the pac 12 than an opposing SEC foe.

I was never counting on Foreman anyway. If we get him, great. If not, we will be ok.

I took Raesjon statement at face value. Why would he come out and say Foreman is coming to lsu. I think he wants him to have his day to commit

I kinda took it the same way. I think it will be a hard pull but still possible.
