I’m not sure Frank is leading for a single guy we want though

It is nice to have a Louisiana guy on staff

Hell yeah. Everyone was so hyped about frank being at LSU for recruiting, as was I. But he couldn't coach running backs worth a shite. Maybe some of the blame could be the o line. But skattebo didn't have great blocking either but the dude found tough yards on his own. So frank doesn't get a bye on this.

It'll help with relationships but end of the day unless either are ponying up their own cash to pay said recruits, neither are gonna have much sway either way. Different world out there now. Everyone is paying. This isn't the Carroll USC world anymore where they were one of the few paying behind closed doors. Relationships still matter but a few dollars can persuade a mind change. 2 CBs in this current class tell the tale. Meredith was all TAM for a year, relationships and money, yet now a heavy Longhorn lean. Dobson, favored LSU for months, relationships and money, now we aren't involved. The relationships are second fiddle at best.

Well, yeah. But if the dollars are the same, geography/weather, nightlife all equal, relationships are very important. And the further you get down the roster, where the NIL is lower but the games are won, relationships probably matter more.

Love having a Bayou Boy back on staff. This man can recruit with the best of them, by sitting with the family and convincing them LSU is where they should be. Of course now, the highest bidder wins the majority of the time, but if a player is getting the right financial deal, Coach O will make sure they will become a Tiger.

And lets not forget what he can do to help with the D-line.

And we ain’t backin’ down. Not to mention O at 1-yr $100k is a BARGAIN compared to FW, and for better results.

When you put it that way, then it does become more important, not less.

If we're after someone and Ohio State, Texas, Georgia etc are all throwing the same money we are, I think having Orgeron as our guy is an advantage in that case.

Are we in this “O is a great crooter!” again?

O or Frank, it doesn’t matter. Recruiting gurus are obsolete. It’s now all about the size of the bag.
