He states that the family is open to arch going to anywhere he chooses, and they are raising him to make his own decisions. He also talks about what an incredible thing Ed Orgeron has going on at LSU.

OTB interview with Cooper Manning
It is the very last question of the interview BTW.

I'm glad to hear this, and it makes so much sense. Let the young man visit all the schools that he wants to... As long as he ends up here

I really hope it’s true and I do believe he will support his son regardless.

However I think this is just kinda blown outa proportion. What exactly is he supposed to say on a Louisiana based radio show. No we will not let our son go to LSU. They are trying to keep a low profile on arch’s recruitment as it is. That would have brought even more unwanted attention.

No way any Manning will ever play at LSU. Archie's O.Miss blood runs very very deep. If Cooper had not gotten hurt, Peyton would have been a Reb, too. Even Peyton has admitted that, years later.

Hey, gotta do what you gotta do. Hell Cooper even expanded on it after he answered the question.

You do realize that no one forced him to accept the interview request, correct? He knew that the question would be asked, and he obviously wanted people to know the answer.

And, just as obviously, they may have been trying to keep Arch's recruitment low-profile, but that's obviously changing, because doing interviews about his recruitment raises his profile.

He did say family is open and supports their kids going to any school. Cooper also made it a point to mention LSU just got Walker Howard and LSU has it going good right now.

This is pretty much what I expected. It should shut the naysayers up though.

The fact that Arch and Walker Howard are friends and Cooper and Jamie are friends can’t hurt either.

Watching those videos of Arch, he has the same movement as Archie when he escapes the pocket. I had flashbacks of when our defense was attempting to tackle Archie.
He has the same throwing arm action as Peyton.

It would be cool to see old Archie in Tiger Stadium when it has nothing to do with Ole Miss ( ), on a regular basis.

He moves very well and is a much better with his feet than either of his uncles. Going to be a good basketball player as well.

Heard they have a pretty good basketball/football recruit living in their house as well. Get General Wade on that guy. I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt if that guy would come to LSU to play a sport also.

Yeah, I don't think they meant for it to be low profile his whole time in HS. I think they wanted him to have as normal a freshman year as possible though. And now his freshman year is over, so I would guess his recruitment will be carefully orchestrated but not entirely private going forward.

I'd be shocked if he said anything different.

It's either Manning or Howard.

LSU QB depth when Arch would potentially be a freshman:

Finley/Johnson - Senior
Nussmeier - Junior
Howard - Sophomore
Manning - Freshman

This gives Nuss 1 to 2 more years to start, followed by Howard for another 1 to 2 more years.

Manning isn't waiting 3+ years to start. If Arch commits to LSU and beats out Howard, then Howard transfers.

There's no scenario where Nuss/Walker/Manning all succeed one another at LSU.

As long as we have a decent qb, I don't care who starts
