Well, Jamie Howard was on the show the day before he admitted he didn’t really want his son to attend LSU. Why wouldn’t Cooper do the same if he felt that way? It really wouldn’t surprise anyone.

No, he did not admit such a thing. He said he was encouraging his son to look around and see other places first before he made up his mind where he wanted to commit. There isn't anything wrong with that since he grew up in an LSU family.

I would imagine the young man is receiving guidance, but the choice will ultimately be his own.

Yes, he used the word “encouraged” him to look else where, but he also said that he didn’t want his son to endure what he did at LSU. There’s more to communication than just words...his tone, hesitation and voice inflection made it clear that he wanted his son to go to one of the Texas schools. Don’t be naive...

I would be very surprised if any elite qb recruit signed with a school where he wasnt viewed as a potential starter by his sophomore year. If things continue with Johnson/Nuss/Howard all being on campus in 2 years there is very little chance Manning chooses LSU.

That being said, the current national trends of qb's transferring at more than 50% if they are not starting as a sophomore means at least one and possibly two of Johnson/Nuss/Howard will no longer be on campus when Manning is a freshman.

I agree. Those 3 will not all be on the LSU roster when it’s time for Arch to commit, and it will likely be only one of them.

What exactly is he supposed to say on a Louisiana based radio show. No we will not let our son go to LSU.

No but he could have spoke about family and tradition which would have pointed toward anywhere but LSU. The fact that he said it the way he said it MAY be trying to be politically correct that the other fan bases (Ol' Piss and that orange school) should prepare for the end of the Manning dynasty.

well Peyton did play at Tennessee which you would think would squash the myth that his off spring aren't open to other options

Ole Miss was deep in sanctions at that time though.

Could very well happen again with Kiffin.
Didn't he leave TN on probation.

You might want to change the word "at" to the word "for."

There's an excellent chance he plays at LSU for another school.

there is also a good chance he plays FOR LSU AT LSU and at other schools on LSU's schedule

You can't say that LSU doesn't have a shot at a kid that people say is often wearing LSU gear and talking to LSU coaches every week. He was born and raised in Louisiana and seems to have an affinity for LSU. LSU has just as good a shot at him as anyone, maybe even more so.

Why don’t you just take them for what they are saying.

1) you may not like them but they aren’t known for being Liars

2) He is telling you the truth

I'm not arguing with you at all. I still have hope.

Somebody used the term "Book that" and set up a scenario where, due to his choice of wording, the odds were stacked against him.

The fact that Manning’s are from Louisiana has nothing do with where this young man will play. The Mannings are good people but they are not loyal to Going to their State school. I’m ok with it even if my dad really never was. I’m indifferent concerning this family and would not put any stock into or reliance on them concerning LSU.

LSU was trash when Peyton came out.

LSU was trash when Eli came out.

LSU has won 3 national titles and played for a 4th since. Top 5 program in CFB over last 20 years. Different era baw.
