No sane downvote can be made here. It is fact that LSU players get preferential treatment in the LA job force, especially those that are good guys too. Pluse LSU alumnni base is also spead throughout the country(as is OSU's) but Ohio winters are brutal and that's a long trip for 3-5 years for parents to make 7-12 times/year to see him play.
Stay home young man and even if you don't become an NFL legend you will never have to pay for a drink, or maybe even meal, in your life after football. Ask Tommy Hodson, Kevin Faulk, Todd McClure, etc.

He is a good looking kid, has he seen the women at Ohio State? they are much better looking at Illinois and Whisky, and i spend a weekend or two in college at both. an ohio state 8 or 9 is an ole miss 6 or 7 at best. and they have 60k women compared to 6k at ole miss. And it’s cold and miserable 60% of the time. They do have good deer hunting, but he will not enjoy student life at ohio state, if he wants to leave louisiana look at USC or Oregon. He wants top education Stanford, California. He can make the pros and have fun too

Academically speaking, Ohio State and Wisconsin are much more highly regarded than LSU, but it's also not like they are Ivy league or something.

ETA: I don't think that Ohio State or Wisconsin are highly regarded enough (academically) to have that greatly influence his decision, but they are definitely a step above LSU in that sense.

Among public universities, both are typically in the top 20 nationally. LSU is usually in the 85-100 area. That's enough disparity to make a difference to a kid/family who value education. I love LSU, but there are a whole bunch of schools I would choose for my kids before LSU.

Eh that is really more for personal vanity sake. Really won’t make any difference in your future life outside of a very small amount of fields

Quick Question: Does it make me racist that I get excited when we recruit white kids at positions other than QB and OL?

Let me state that I want the best players regardless of anything and support every player that wears LSU across their chest but for some subconscious reason I am pulling a little extra for us to land this kid. Same thing happened for Bech.

Some of the comments made about recruits on this board
shows why we lose certian players to out of state schools.
We have some AH`s as fans.
As far as education goes ,any prospect who truely wants
a quality education can get one anywhere he goes.If you
are a serious student, you go to class study listen to the
professer ask questions do your work and make the grades.
If he is wants to be a doctor ,lawyer etc.maybe then go
to top schools for those curriculums.

Every fan base has them. It doesn't justify it, but it's true. The fact with this one is that the staff before did a bad job. Other schools showed up and became a priority. Even when schools don't have big time recruits a college still needs to call and show up when in the area to establish a relationship. Wisconsin and OSU were able to establish themselves while LSU just didn't communicate.

I agree.

So when a non-Louisiana kid stays home instead of coming to LSU, realize that it's likely for that same reason.

ohio state is saying they will build around him as the certain piece for the defense.. it is not about money with him and it is more about the want.. we have to show him we want him here at LSU. i want the kid at lsu more than anyone of you..
He will be a good piece for LSU, but we aren't going to build anything around one kid, and neither is Ohio St. This kid is going to a defense that will probably have 3-4 starting 5 stars on it in Ohio St.

I'm not going to get upset if he doesn't come here. If the kid wants out, good luck. Only way I'd say something is if he throws shade at LSU on his way out.

Kelly needs to make a personal visit when he’s able to. I know a few people that are close to the Curtis family and Tackett was very high on Notre Dame before the Kelly hire.
I know he’s a 2A player but this kid is amazing. My high school played them in the regular season and in the semifinals and Tackett is the only reason Many won those games.

Now I admit I have never seen Tackett play ball but I have heard that he plays very stiff.

Plays with the head hunting mentality like Laron Landry.
