Actually Many is the only school in parish with football. I agree that Tackett won't be at LSU unless Kelly gets serious about recruiting him. A restart is necessary such as driving the 3 1/2 hrs to Many and sitting down with Tackett and his family and having a serious talk. So much has been said that is so unfair to this young man and his family. 98% of our community is LSU crazy but we understand the situation. If anyone wants to experience small town football at its best come to Many this fall for a game. We are actually pretty nice folks who just love our hometown Tigers. By the way, you would also see at least 2-3 other future Div I prospects.

Please those who keep saying Many people don't like LSU, you're dead wrong! Probably more people from Many make the 3 hour trip down for games than any other La town on a per capita basis. Folks are wearing purple and gold everywhere and many of us bleed purple and gold! As for Jess Curtis, get off of him too. Many has been a perennial powerhouse under his tenure as head coach. I as much as anyone hope Tackett ends up at LSU as do most Many people. It would really help though if the minority of sore heads on here would quit bashing Tackett, Coach Jess, our school and our town.

It really bothers me that there is such a misconception on here about Tackett and his uncle and coach Jess Curtis. True they were not fans of Orgeron with good reason. True that LSU is behind now. Give things a chance to work out. If LSU really wants Tackett I believe they have an excellent chance to get him. The kid lives football 24/7. He is relentless in the weight room and at practice. He's a good student and polite nice kid. Jess only wants what is best for him. I believe Kelly can sell his vision to Tackett Let's all be positive about the situation. Geaux Tigers!

I know Tackett isn't excited about LSU but that can change. He just wants to know he is really wanted wherever he goes. I believe the current staff will convey that message to him.

I'm happy LSU offered. I'm proud for Tackett and our school and community. I sincerely hope he ends up at LSU. This young man is a class act as well as a great athlete.

I agree with some of the last posts. Tackett is a good kid from a good family. He's got a lot of attention being thrown at him right now that he's not used to. I'm confident he will handle it as well as any 16 yr could. As an ardent LSU fan I very much hope that's where he ends up. Only time will tell. It would help if people could refrain from criticizing him, his uncle/coach, his school and his community. I realize that on a forum such as this that is not likely to happen. But, encouragement would be more beneficial than negative comments. Thx to everyone for listening.

His last two offers yesterday were Oregon and Tex A&M to go along with previous offers frpm Standford, Okla, Okla St, Ole Miss, Miss St, Ark, Tenn, Virg Tech, Virg, Boston Coll, and others.

I totally agree. I don't know where this negative crap is coming from about Coach Curtis but it is just not true. He is all in for his players as any coach should be. He welcomes all collegiate interest in his boys and has as much or more shown than any AA program in the state. By the way, Many just won the Men's AA Power Lifting last week.

Tackett Curtis got offers from USC and Oklahoma today. Still not hearing from LSU. I don’t mean an offer. I mean no contact period. Pretty sad on my alma mater’s part. There is really no excuse for them not reaching out.
