I’m fine with getting Clark as I truly think he can start in the SEC but as insurance with the money you’d save from not getting Leavitt I would use to get Deuce Knight or the USC transfer kid so you at least have 2 options.

it's just amazing to me that the emergence of Chambliss has seemingly made everyone think that Kiffin has routinely taken chicken shite and made chicken salad... he is very much the oddity from Kiffin's career... almost every single QB Kiffin has had to work with was very highly recruited guys... he didn't "make" them... winning lottery tickets are great, but at this point we are expecting Lane to hit like he did with Chambliss, with ANYONE he gets, and that's a fallacy...

Agreed. I have been saying the same thing. I literally said just because you hit the lottery once doesn’t mean you use it in your financial planning to keep hitting the lottery.

Your 3rd option plays it means your season is fricked anyway. If they can’t find a 3rd QB (they will) Emile Picarella could ge the 3rd string.

We hired LK to build a program and we’re less than 2 months in thinking he can’t do it

oh, i did.... i still couldn't get over the fact that you had no idea that Chambliss was not OM starter to start the year... as evidenced by the part i chose to respond to...

It's already a very difficult injury to come back from. From what I've been told some never quite recover properly..

It can be a career killer for RBs. It definitely is a detriment to mobile QBs, but if they have an arm and are accurate, they can work around it. They jist won't be as mobile. I think that's what ended Cam Newton's career. He could still play, he just was never the same because running was his biggest asset.

frick that. We may end up in a situation where it’s an open competition in Spring, but there’s no way this guy is just handed anything but an opportunity.

You don't just roll with him. You bring in a guy like Longstreet or Knight and have a true competition with for starter.

4 star recruit of HS... yeah i remember him... and yeah, i know what you are about to say.. "he was a running back before Kiffin got a hold of him"... and yes, he was a running back, but he was also a back up QB, and in HS he was primarily a QB, starting since his Soph yr, and throwing for 2700+ yds in both his JR and SR year, and 28 TDs his SR yr...

so let's not act like the kid had never taken a snap at QB...

They were spending millions on Simmons and peanuts on Chambliss. Simmons got every benefit of the doubt.

Blake Sims is why I wish we held onto Ju’Juan Johnson. Johnson couldn’t be any worse of a passer than Sims was.

no one is saying Kiffin is not a good coach or that he can't build a program... what we are concerned with is just this attitude of everything is OK and Kiffin will solve EVERYTHING, no matter what you give him to work with, b/c he's Kiffin... it don't work that way... thinking that the whole Chambliss experience can just be recreated no matter who you give him to work with is so fricking stupid i can't even get to the point of where y'all actually even believe this....

Chasing Leavitt around is about the worst negotiating ploy I've ever heard of, if that is what LK did

I think it was more about repairing the relationship than a negotiating ploy.

Yeah. I don’t feel good about have to rely on this. This kid is a great QB2 who can be developed into a QB1, but we need a bigger fish for this season.

Actually, I believe what people are saying is don't be so dismissive that Kiffin can find and develop an underrated QB to be at least serviceable. Are you totally incapable to at least admit that?

so, if this is the case, do you trust Lane's judgement and ability to field the best team possible? b/c it sounds like you are saying that he purposefully didn't do that, at least until injury forced him to roll with Chambliss...
