Not as up on our pitching situation as others on here, but wondering about the injured guys this year like Shores, Edwards (and was there another?). Where do they fit in next year?

I think a healthy Jaden Noot might make a play at a weekend spot next year, assuming he returns.

My understanding is that Vandy is making a big play for Burns. He’s from the state

Which he might but when it’s widely known like this it isn’t a good look. Franchises don’t want someone that’s afraid to play the best bc there’s no hiding in the majors. The lineups are 100x as explosive, everyone can light it up.

I read something on TD earlier today saying some big wig at Tenn came in with a rather large NIL deal and that he’s going to pull his name out of the portal. Obviously it was on TD, so you can’t ever tell what is and isn’t true.

It’s not true. None of the staffers on tenn 247 expect him back. They’ve practically told them to move on.

There was a rumor on Tennessee boards that he was telling his own teammates that he was going to be the Friday night at LSU next season back in May. My guess is LSU is his ultimate destination but he is going to talk to multiple schools to get the biggest offer he can.

Yeah wonder if TCU used the Burns smoke screen to force the Wichita State kid to sign with them quickly.

I don't think Burns is going to fit with our team mentality. Tolle also went to TCU so TCU could easily have the most talented staff in the country next season.

Neither did Tommy White before coming here. That is what leaders of the team are for. You have to make them fit with it and be a team player. Have to have someone on next years team step up in roles that Crews, Beloso, Dugas, and Skenes had. Losing a lot of leadership but you hop some of the younger guys paid plenty attention to them and will step up to carry it on.

I think the transfer portal can overrate how good some of these guys are, just because they're available.

Tolle is good. But there are plenty of guys that aren't in the portal that are better.

I agree with you to a certain extent. But again some players just don't fit no matter how good the leadership is. You cannot always force someone to put the team first. If after meeting with Jay, Jay feels like he will buy in to the team then obviously you take him if you can. I was just saying I don't think based on the information out there that he is going to fit in with the team mentality and we will be fine without him if thats the case.

I agree with both of those points but if TCU has Tolle and Burns in the transfer portal they are going to have a pretty damn good weekend rotation lined up.

Chase burns is an immature smartass douche on Twitter with constant retarded sociopolitical snarky tweets that demonstrate he's a dumb 20 year old who thinks he knows everything. He is NOT a good fit for a locker room.

White was nothing like that before transferring.

Tommy White's own dad said he was not a good teammate and locker room person when at NC State. It is all about who you are around. If everyone else is acting right and has positive leadership in the locker room, Burns will follow in place. He will only be with you for 1 year. You get good locker room leadership to change him just a little bit. Kind of like mentioned above, the meeting with Jay would have to suggest that Burns is a completely terrible fit to not take that talent if he wants in.

He's not making a weekend spot next year. He'll be lucky to pitch late in the season and at most, in relief.

I didn’t know that you were a decision maker when it comes to who is a fit and who isn’t. Pretty sure JJ has it under control. What you should be saying is that you hope he is a fit.
