People thought he was a lock. He would never commit. If he’s that locked in and never pulls the trigger, it tells me he was never locked in to begin with.
Bama won the negative recruiting war on that one

Gunner Kiel was another one.
5* QB who was committed and set to EE with LSU and then misses the EE meeting and moves into the dorms in Southbend and enrolls at ND.
That one had lots of people scratching their head.
No chest

Terry Davis Bogalusa 1967
He was my hero. Wanted to change my name to Terry. Went to all his games
Other honorable mentions:
Tommy Wilcox 1977 the bear came to his house and mr freddie his fate was sealed. He probably would have gone to Tulane like mr freddie had.
Norris Weese went to Ole Miss. Norris was almost as good as Terry Davis.
John Fourcade
Good QB went to Ole Miss
When we would hit him in high school, he would whine like a sissy.
Major Applewhite
Ok that one was a joke!

quote:Great point. Also was kicked off Tenn for “unspecified reasons” so we dodged a bullet with that guy.
Janzen Jackson was committed to LSU for a long time. He didn't sign on national signing day. The next day he signed with Lane Kiffin at Tennessee. Rumor was Kiffin talked him into leading LSU on. He ended up being convicted of manslaughter in California.

A real upright man, that one.

Damn. Must be a lot of young people here to not remember Joe McKnight. It was announced live at the Bayou Bash and that place erupted in anger.

Landon Collins mom was the absolute best.

Do y’all even Joe McKnight?

Always the correct answer. The fact it took 2 pages to have him mentioned shows how young the board has gotten. That's not a bad thing, mind you,but a lot of the long time guys aren't around anymore and it shows.

77 was a really good QB year for LA:
Wilcox
Fourcade
Alan Risher
Bobby Hebert

How LSU was guilty of that is beyond me.

The melt from Joe McKnight signing with USC was pretty epic and legendary. I think that’s the biggest meltdown I’ve seen on here outside of 1/9/2012.

It was a few days later. He said he wanted his mom to be there for the signing, and when the day came he signed with Tennessee. frick Janzen

His father, Lance Guidry, was behind that ruse. POS just like his son turned out to be.

Joe Ferguson was another big miss in the early 70s. My dad said he was introduced at a BB game the week before signing day. He thought Joe looked like he stole something.
He signed with RKansas and later played many years at Buffalo NY.
