This was an incredibly deep year at RB in Louisiana. You can't sign them all.

He clearly didn't prove it to our staff, though. And even if they did feel he was good enough to be a take in a vacuum, recruiting and roster-building doesn't occur in a vacuum - it does nobody any good to bring in a third RB in a class if you don't think he's ever going to take touches away from the first two guys. All that's going to happen is you spend your time and resources developing him for a year or two and then he leaves.

In any event, let's play a game: Name the last 3 Louisiana guys that LSU didn't pursue at all that turned out to bite us.

There are a few times we've been late to the party and started pursuing a kid too late to convince him to come (travis etienne, edgerrin cooper), but that's not the case with Jasper Parker. When you're talking about guys we legitimately had no interest in, it's exceedingly rare that they come back to haunt us. It's hard to name any at all in the last 10 years. Tre Harris is the only guy who really comes to mind - and in that case, he was SO far off the radar that it wouldve been a bit ludicrous to take him. You might say Keon Coleman, but the guys we took over him included Nabers and Thomas, so you can't really say we messed that one up. Who else is there?

Bottom line: The odds that we will regret not pursuing Jasper Parker are absolutely miniscule. These guys know what they're doing.

Kid seems like a mini LF7 to me. Lots of power for small, quick back.

His visits were Duke GTech and Michigan. Huge miss here. On your post, not the player.

Dylan Sampson was the best back in the SEC. Tre Harris the best WR.

This happens more than once or twice a decade lol

it was a very strong class of RB in Louisiana this year.

we are going to “miss” on a few guys.

but we also weren’t trying to take 6.

Currently destroying E. D. White in the dome. He looks amazing, one cut and he’s gone.

He’ll be a good one at Michigan.

He's very very very good. If he stay's healthy he'll get an opportunity. LSU got my two favorite backs in this class. It's been fun debate for awhile.
