Dgaf about stars or projections. Give me a kid from nova right now. He's been in a program that knows klhow to win titles. Period.

Quinerly was committed to Arizona until Miller had his own wiretap scandal. Doubt he comes here.

Saw Cameron Lard in there from Natchitoches. Trying to leave Iowa State. Listed at 6-9 220.

interesting - Lard averaged 12 points and 8 rebounds as a freshman and his stats dropped by half this past season. He played only 20 games and did not play the last month. Injury? Doghouse? Something was going on. Seems to have the ability to contribute , maybe start but may have to sit out unless they could get NCAA waiver.

Would Wade not make a play for Admon Gilder?

Lard had a lot of issues that affected him while at ISU, he needs a change of scenery. I'd love him at LSU but he brings a lot of potential issues/baggage.

Story on Lard

quote:

His debut with the team (ISU) was delayed by academic issues that resulted in the NCAA not declaring him eligible, which put him in a prep school in Houston to begin the 2016-17 season before joining the program that winter and redshirting.

quote:

He was, however, suspended for the first two games to start that freshman season and was removed from the starting lineup in a late-January game as a coach’s decision. He was also cited in February 2017 for possession of drug paraphernalia - a charge that was later dropped - and cited in April for being in a bar underage.

He was also cited in February 2017 for possession of drug paraphernalia - a charge that was later dropped - and cited in April for being in a bar underage.

Lard then spent last summer off campus at a wellness center while ”addressing a personal improvement matter,” ISU said at the time.

He returned to the team in the fall, but was hardly the same player in a season that saw ISU finish 24-13, win the Big 12 tournament title and bow out in the NCAA tournament’s first round.

In his sophomore season, Lard was suspended for the month of November and went on to average 5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in just 12.5 minutes per game while showing nearly a complete inability to stay out of foul trouble. He went from being called for 4.2 fouls per 40 minutes as a freshman to 10.2 as a sophomore.

He was also suspended for a game against Texas in March for a violation of team rules.

Kid has had a really tumultuous career

LINK

If we do give a scholarship to a transfer that has to sit, there are a few Freshmen studs out there, some of which we actually recruited.

Looking at you Jordan Brown, Jaedon Ledee, and Kaden Archie.

The Hauser Brothers can play, but not sure where we stand with them.

For experience/past production, I'd look at the following:

Jaylen Fisher
Chris Clarke
Admon Gilder
Cheikh Mbacke Diong
Shakur Juiston
Justice Sueing

I wouldn't be opposed to Gilder, Fisher, or even Dazon Ingram at all, but we really need to add at least one big, possibly even 2 with a developmental bench guy and a JC big that can step in right away.

Chalk me up as a hell no to Ingram, he sucks.

Gilder or Fisher would be good options...although Fisher has been an injured mess in college, so that's a big risk.

Blackshear from Virginia Tech just went into the transfer portal.

I'd have him in a New York minute, but I'd be surprised if he's not following Buzz to A&M.

What's their situation scholarship wise like right now? I know they announced like 4 incoming players recently.

I dunno.

But I saw this, which really ought to flesh out the transfer market for us.

ESPN transfer rankings, broken out by grad transfers and sit-out transfers.

I was coming to post the article breaking down the players. There are some extremely talented players. Unlike football, many kids just want to leave smaller schools and experience better basketball and have potential the get more exposure.

I think Wade will dig into the grad transfers. He will go get a player or two to fill the voids.

I would take a hard look at Connor Vanover from Cal. You can't coach 7-3. Plus he started really coming on at the end of the year.

To make that happen I'd think you'd really need to put Graves back to walkon status. You need two bigs who can play now. Maybe if you didn't take another guard you could sign Vanover as a sit-out transfer.

He's absolutely a baller, Skee-Lo. Kid's a double-double factory. But he's pretty much identical to Emmitt Williams. We need a post with size.
