What's our chances of landing this kid out of Hahnville High? I know we offered in September. He committed to Kansas back in February.
He went off again last night for 300+ all purpose yards. He's small but very fast and elusive. Reminds me of DeAnthony Thomas from Oregon a couple years ago.

Supposedly he has grade problems and may have to sit out next year if he came here

Very good comparison. He’s definitely a guy you want on your team as a playmaker if he can get his grades right. I can’t see him going to Kansas either.

he seems tailor made for the jet sweep option in the Canada offense

Is this current information? I thought I read about a month ago that his grades were no longer an issue.

I've heard from quite a few people that his grades are trending in the right direction. I think he pretty much had them up once LSU offered.

I have also heard he is working hard on the grades

Trindon in this offense would have brought nightmares. Stacking the box on defense would be a disaster.

I'm not convinced Canada is gonna be here even next year, much less beyond that. I'm not sure recruiting for his offense is a sound strategy. Get the best players--they should work in any offense.

Who is going to pay Canada what he is making at LSU?

Yeah, it might be a blessing in disguise that it's taken this offense so long to gel. May get to keep Canada for a year or two more. Will love to see what happens with another year of proper offensive coaching.

Besides grade problems, he is about 5'8". But he can cut on a dime and accelerate.

Pooka so far has 96yds & 2 TDs in the first quarter on 2 carries.

If he gets his grades straight, he'll be a tiger.

He and Provens would both fit the Canada offense well.

The only place Canada would go if he left LSU is the NFL, and I don't see that happening, at least not in the foreseeable future. There's no reason for him to go to another college, unless he's getting a head coach job. If you take a coach who is one of the best at his job in the college ranks, there's no better school to be at than LSU. I'm not only talking about the aspect of teaching players, or motivating players, or developing strategy, I'm talking about everything that a college coach needs to do to be successful, including recruiting. If a coach is one of the best, there's no better place to be than LSU. The talent is here, right outside your back door. It's not like Ala-frickin-bama that must rely on out-of-state recruiting to be a winner. And there's a lot of programs around the country that must recruit out-of-state players to compete for NC's. The only reason for him to leave LSU would be because LSU isn't competing for NC's and he has a chance to go to a school that is. But, the lack of success on the field would be a reflection of his own failure. And I don't see that happening. Not if he is successful recruiting and the overall program is successful recruiting. I don't know how Canada is going to fare against Ala-frickin-bama, it will be a measuring stick to gauge his abilities, at least partially. If LSU just doesn't have the players who can compete against a team of that caliber, it will be evident. Can't really hold that against him in his first season with the program. But, if he's not able to formulate strategy and call plays that give players the best opportunity to succeed, then that will be evident as well. If the guy is as good a coach as we all hoope he is, then he will get the players out of HS that will play in his system and succeed and LSU will compete for NC's. Well, I mean, the defensive side as well. I just don't see him leaving anytime soon if LSU gets the recruits they need and want.

Williams/Holiday comparison... With Williams as a better RB.
Posted on 10/28/17 at 8:30 pm to LesnarF5
Holliday was all speed, Williams is that and more.

This kid is gonna be a really good one. He’s not just speed. If LSU can’t or wont try to get this kid they are dumb.
