So are you saying he is fine riding the pine at aTm for 4 years while collecting $120K/yr and blowing any chance he has of making 10s of millions of dollars a year for his entire NFL career. If that is the case he isn't very smart.

Danny Lewis went to Bama for $25,000. That money will be spent long before he enrolls next fall. These kids are going to learn some hard life lessons very quickly.

If he is that talented he will get on the field there. If he isn’t he wasn’t going to cut it in the nfl anyway

Especially when the first tax filing comes due next spring. None of these fools is going to set money aside for that.

If LSU let Lewis go to bama for 25k after all the money they have blown recently then they deserve what they get. That’s a drop in the bucket to fill a need LSU has.

That ain’t what I’m saying I’m saying that’s why he went there,he obviously thinks he is better than half of what they have in his mind I’m sure.He knows now with the portal if he is wrong he stays there for 1-2 years makes money while he figures out if he can be a starter and if not he can leave an never sit out.The portal being open an free to these kids means they don’t have to get it right the first time unfortunately

Yeah their plan is likely recruit everyone.

Have the best play and the rest transfer and you save on the rest of that 4 year deal.

Long term teams will use that against them.

Why would he ride the pine when he is the highest rated safety in their class?

Y'all act like all players come to lsu and start right away

We signed ryan and davis last year, the #2 and #3 safeties and they barely played.

The safeties in front of them were pretty bad.

Were they going to put it aside at lsu?

Didn't we just pay perk?

I actually think they think the opposite, “ well, since they are giving me all this money, I’m the best they have and I’m going to start”. Then reality sets in when they get there and they ride the pine and are ready to transfer after the first year.

I think he is a 3* because he’ll need two years of development before seeing the field. In two years he’ll be 3rd on the depth chart and we’ll offer $40k to come be our starter and that’ll be the way this works going forward. This NIL / portal world means everyone will trade 20 players every year. Scholarships will be treated as 1-year contracts and players that don’t pan out will be “processed” like in baseball.
