Saban's db's have been the weak link to his defenses. the teams that have had success against the bama defense has done it through the air. atm and lsu last year. atm this year. when he was here, it was the db's that were the issue on the defense. we moved jack hunt over to play safety, we had michael clayton playing safety, u.g.a. and david green torched us. arkansas went 85 yards through the air with 40 seconds left. iowa won through the air on the last play.
his dbs have not performed well in the n.f.l. either.

No doubt. If both teams are still in the hunt, and I believe LSU is still in the hunt, why not go to the best game of the year and the place where LSU always beats Bama. These tickets are going to be scarce and the cost of them a piece will be about 1000 bucks. A piece. Plus can you imagine another game that's going to have as much press as this one and ESPN game day you know is going to be whoring..I mean going to be there to show Bama some love.

I've read a lot of posts about this on both the SEC Rant & this board. Seems like LSU is in good shape for him.
I noticed the announcement date is on a Friday--who does Neville play that night & would he want to commit to them on that day, or does this really matter at all?

Maybe he called Saban to let him know he was committing to LSU. Saban asked him to delay it till he comes to see Bama in person. Out of respect, Hootie says OK...knowing his announcement, he just tells everyone the date so they will shut up.
