I live on the gulf coast. Soil temps are rising. Greencast says soil temp was 62 degrees yesterday but rising a degree or two every day. I know 70 degrees is the magic number. Is that one day at 70 or several days at 70 that we want to be in front of?

Looks like it may rain next Thursday and Friday so was gonna put it out around Wednesday if that's not too long to wait.

The weed threads, always timely.

Another question to add if you don't mind...

How long to wait for pre-em application after spraying Clegg's? Seems some of the weeds had a party on the Prodiamine sprayed in the fall.

I may put some Cleggs down this weekend, unless that's not the move?

Crabgrass germinates at 55 degrees. If you are consistently above that then the first app goes down now.

This is going to sound cheap af...what's the most budget friendly preemergent specifically for crabgrass in bermuda? or to say it differently, best bang for the buck. I got a baby starting daycare this month

No it doesn't. All the lawncare products moonshot in prices over the last few years.

Congratulations. I think most of us who have been there understand completely. Wait until you have to pay for multiple kids in high school. Budget friendly preemergent is just the start.

Appreciate the friendly comments. Can a man have a family and a nice lawn at the same time? To answer the original question, sounds like I'm going to Lowes today to see about putting something down in the next couple of days.

Did my prodiamine the other day before light rain here. I was going to do the Clegg's in 2 weeks or so, then specticle in late April for doveweed along with sedges.

I always plan to do it around Valentine's Day, so was going to do it next weekend, but after reading this tread, guess I'm doing it this weekend.

Thanks for the comments. I went by Lowes and got a bag of the Lesco Stonewall and put it out this evening before dark. Supposed to rain here in the morning. I'm always too late with it anyway so maybe it will work better this year with the early application.
