Looking for a good weather station for my home and camp.

I have this one. Tempest

Following, because I want to update an antiquated accurite.
Tempest and Davis get great reviews, but I haven’t taken my usual, “you’re an insane person” plunge on the products just yet.

I have the “Ambient Weather WS-2902 WiFi Smart Weather Station” going on 4 years now - no issues - very happy with it.

Just go outside and see for yourself. It’s still hot; still dry.

I have the same station. Only problem is I have to clean the rain "funnel" a few time a year because of nearby trees getting junk in it.
And .... IMO, MY estimation is that the wind gauge reads a little low.
Highest temp last month was 108F on my station. The Lake Charles temp was 109F that day.

ive been looking at the ambient weather ws-5000
it has an ultrasonic wind sensor that can catch short burst wind gusts better than cups since there isn't any momentum to overcome that the cups have
also, the standard height for accurate wind measurements is 10m high

Stay away from Acurite. They don't provide parts long enough. I have an Acurite 5 in 1 station that's currently in-op due to the temp/humidity sensor being unavailable. It's only 3 years old. I learned my lesson. On year 2 they changed their software (forced update) to make everyone get another device ($$) to post to the internet. I should have realized then I screwed up. Kid broke the anemometer with his lacrosse shot, but that's actually still available for sale, I've just chosen to stay away. I'll probably look at Davis or Lacrosse Tech. That Tempest looks awesome too. I like the idea of a lightning detector. That could prove handy on my kid's phone to make him weather aware when he's out and about on his bike/at the pool during the summer.

As DVInBR stated wind speed measurement on any home weather station will not be accurate, compared to an “official” weather station, unless the unit is 20 to 30 feet high and placed in a open area with no surrounding buildings, trees, etc.

I have the Logia 5 in 1 Wi-fi Weather Station that I got early this year. I mounted it on a post that's roughly 10 feet off the ground in my backyard. I really like that I can connect it to Weather Underground and see live data through that site.

Same one I have had my eye on. I've got a large, open backyard now with no trees to drop stuff on a good weather station.

I had Acurite first...didn't care for it. Internet data transfer wasn't user friendly and it also wasn't durable. Have had Ambient for the last 3 years. Its been durable, the internet and app info sharing work really well.

Interested in this as well.
Had an Accu rite at old house and was satisfied.

We have the Davis VantageVue at our camp connected to internet. Other than hurricanes wiping it out it’s been fantastic. The sensor suite is about 250’ from the receiver station.

These are a lot of money for weather updates

I have the Ambient Weather WS-2902. Does what is supposed to do and no issues yet. Had it since January 2023, seems to be holding up well.

Ambient 2902 owner for about 6 years. Pretty satisfied except that I have yet to see a wind recording above 40mph, even though hurricanes that destroyed fences very nearby.

Does anyone know of a weather station that can connect to other people's sensors around me, like through Weatherbug or something?
