My yard is St. Aug grass. Spot sprayed msm turf about a month ago. This past week I noticed it’s worse than ever. Spot sprayed msm again, twice this past week. Anyone else have the same issues with this stubborn weed?

I've never been able to get rid of it. It's mainly in the patches of St Aug I have in the front yard. I broadcast applied MSM in May then have spot treated twice with celsius. It damages the St Aug so bad I'm hesitant to get after it. The second application of celsius barely slowed it down.

I had a pretty good control of it in my yard and then last summer we had to move out of our house for 7 months and the yard went to shite.

Its terrible this year. I tried staying on top of it early by pulling (the only effective way I've found to get rid of it), but it was coming up everywhere.

My entire front half of my yard is covered.

Between it and lespedeza, I am going to have to have an all out war next year.

I’m having an issue where there is excessive moisture.

My lawn is filled with VBW and doveweed. I've pretty much given up.

I think it is impossible to rid. I only spot spray with a high dose, and each year it gets worse.
Fixing to give up and have a nice VBW lawn, with pretty white flowers.

I may go to round up on the patches and see what happens.

St. Augustine sure doesn’t seem as tough as when I was a youngster. Almost wonder if we had a different St. Aug cultivar than what is sold today. I replaced my mom’s yard a decade ago from St. Aug to Empire Zoysia. You can’t kill that stuff. I planted Palisades Zoysia in my front yard. That grass grows so thick, stays green even during most of the winter, and it grows so thick it chokes the weeds out. I’m not going to put that much work and money into battling with St. Augustine and it’s bugs and diseases. Pretty grass when healthy, but it either likes its spot or doesn’t.

Far as weeds Celsius and Certainty kill pretty much everything I need it to.

I think I'm at this point, as well. Neverending uphill battle.

The white VBW flowers make for a nice contrast against my green centipede.

Definitely notice that areas with poor drainage the VBW can outcompete St Aug

I was on top of my pre and post emergent game the last year and a half, even did what was recommended by LSU Ag to fix up my yard.

Yard has been arse but "at least it's green" right now. No chance St. Aug is one of those yards you can set on fire and have it come back better after winter huh?

Specticle Flo pre emergent does a great job at getting rid of VBW, Dove weed and the majority of our common uninvited lawn guests. I have been using it for the last two years and have very little of either. It is pricey however the application rate is so low that the cost / application is very reasonable.

VBW does seem to be really active this year. I keep it under control in the yard with MSM. I also have some small pastures and the VBW is terrible in them. I've got to get with it and spend the time and spray the MSM out in the pastures.

I feel like if my neighbors don’t treat their yard also it’s a losing battle so I just keep spraying it with roundup all summer
