Dyson is marketing and status, like Kirby and rainbow . It is a vacuum. Eureka or sharp. Save your money.
Our Rainbow is almost 30 years old and runs like a champ and can even do wet if needed. In my experience it’s water tank works just as well as our Kenmore elites hepa filter. It’s like the Toyota T100 of vacuums IMO. Can buy them used for a decent price and they last forever. Only downside is wife feels that it’s bulky; so she prefers Kenmoore.

I had nothing against our Oreck and we may just get it serviced and hang onto it. It doesn’t have attachments or anything fancy so that’s why we’re looking.
Thanks everyone for the recs. Mrs Hop seems to like the Nav Pro so looks like that’s what she’ll be getting.

Shark Navigator. See amazon. Not overly priced like Dyson

Yeah for sure, long cord on it too.

I love the Shark Navigagor professional. About $250 and has everything. It is powerful.
Bet Walmart has a $99 Eureka that is just fine.

I have a 8’x5’ rug in my living room and used to have a Hoover upright vacuum. When I bought my Dyson, I vacuumed that rug with the Hoover and thought it was clean, then proceeded to fill the canister on the Dyson on the same rug.
This one was before the ball Dysons so I don’t know how good the new ones are. But it is amazing how much better it was than my old hoover.
I have one of the rechargeable Dysons that I use for most stuff now and have a roomba that runs every day. If I can convince my wife to shut the bathroom door before she leaves so it doesn’t get hung on all her cords, it does the whole house which is great for day to day maintenance.

I just ran over to wal marks and got the navigator with the self cleaning brush. Holy shite that Oreck wasn’t doing a damn thing apparently.

I just disassembled a Dyson yesterday, because it smelled like mildew. That foreign a-hole put T9 torx screws in it, so I had to spend half a day finding a T9

Can find them for around 250 on ebay. Those things are built to last no you dont have to worry abouy them breaking.
The water can be a pain, but the performance is unmatched.

I've had the same Oreck since the late 1980s.

Don't ever buy a foreign vehicle.

The only correct answer is Dyson
Plastic garbage, any review by a knowledgeable person tells you they are overpriced junk. I have a mid-90's Kirby I picked up for $200, barely used and still in its original box with all its accessories, and there's nothing Dyson makes that will touch it. It will last decades too. Sanitair commercial vacuums are excellent and $200 or less. Miele, Electrolux, Oreck, Hoover all have commercial-grade models that cost less than a Dyson and do a better job.

I've had foreign trucks, and worked on plenty of foreign vehicles. I have basically every tool I'll ever need to fix stuff. Never once had to use a T9 (but I do have a T7 for my pocket knife made in Colorado). The micro kits I have go 7, 8, and then 10.
I do have a multi-bit Wiha with a T9 in it, but it wouldn't fit into the holes on the Dyson. He could've made it easy and put all T10s like everyone else in the world, but nope

Are Dysons as good as they claim?
My mom has a Dyson that she probably got in 2006 or 2007 that is still running strong.

Two Dyson's here. The first one still going after 10 years and I even got that as a refurb
