Summer 2023 - 2 inches of rain from June to September

Summer 2024 - 15 inches of rain in July alone. 11 of 12 days straight of rain (0.2 inches or more each day).

I really hated the intense drought, but I think that was better than the flood. It's been over two weeks since I cut my back yard and it's still wet.

And Summer 2022 was pretty much the same as this year. It rained damn near every day from late June through mid-September.

On the other hand, I can say with almost certainty that with all this summer rain that this upcoming year’s crawfish crop will be better than this past year…….but I won’t try to predict pice…….

Rain beats the drought and those high temperatures in my book.

I'll see your tale of two years and raise you a tale of one month.

From June 9 to July 18 we had no measurable rain. Everything was dead, dry, and cracks wide enough to trip up a squirrel. On the 21st we got more rain in an hour and half than we did the entire month of June. By the 29th we had just under 8", and July became our wettest month of the year so far. Everything is now green and overgrown. Per the drought monitor out yesterday, though, we are still in Moderate Drought.

What year was the drought?

This is the opposite of that.

I for one welcome my brown patch overlords. That shite obliterated my beautiful st sug turf in 2022 and I fully expect brown mush lawn come October if this rain keeps up. I do apply disease ex (alternating every other year with propiconazole) monthly from August to October but I’ve had approximately 0 success in taming the beast. I’ll still take rain over drought though!

Wrong. Too much rain. Prices will be sky high.

Spoon fed and watered.
Can’t depend on 45% chance, and that’s the best chance in 7 days.

I was finally able to cut my back yard yesterday. It was over 14 days!

I'm not sure what happens, but mud sort of bubbles up throughout the lawn after one of these prolonged wet spells (it's happened before). It makes these patches of raised dirt (mud) appear randomly. Anyone know what happens here? My neighbor had the same thing happen to his yard.

Lightning adds nitrogen to rain.
Enjoy the free fertilizer BR folks

Of course the 45% happened. I’ll take it!
