Removing Oak Tree Acorns - Best Way?

I have two live oaks out front and one on the neighbor’s property extends a bit on my property line.
It is a battle every single year dealing with the acorns. I usually blow them into a pile then bag them or use the shop vac. Takes an insanely long time though.
I’ve seen some rolling acorn pickers, yard brushes, dethacters, etc. but none specifically note being able to pick up small live oak acorns.
Any advice is appreciated before I waste an entire day on these before the trees drop even more and I do it all over again.
Thanks in advance.

Will a billy goat pick them up? I know they are usually more for leaves, but seems within their capacity.
They make lawn sweepers as well, would go with a commercial grade and not something cheap though.

My forest gump snapper riding mower sucks up 99% of my acorns & they go in the rear bagger. The snapper will fill the rear bagger with dirt if you leave the blade running on a bare spot in the yard

hate to say it but i cut mine down and dont miss them at all. not only 10 bags of leaves and 10 bags of acorns, but the squirrels were tearing up the yard digging holes everywhere even if there was a freaking acorn right next to him.
glad to get rid of those feres too.

I just let them be but I live out in the country. Never occurred to me to try to get up acorns.

something like a pecan picker would work, just need some for smaller nuts.

I don't understand the concern? Is it messing with your grass?

Yes. It completely smothers the ground and makes the grass grow in all patchy. I still am amazed at the amount of acorns they drop each year. It’s mind blowing.

When I was a kid my grandmother had 2 huge live oaks behind her house. My dad, brother, and I would rake them up and fill crawfish sacks to use on the deer lease.

With me it’s the hickory nuts. I use a reacher and spend 3-4, 2 hour sessions each, and fill up 5 gallon buckets and go dump them in a wooded area in the corner of my yard. My bucket holds about 400 hickory nuts and I fill it maybe 12 times or more. Thats a lotta nuts.
At least I won’t be shooting missiles from under the mower deck when mowing.

cost of doing business with oaks. I have so many acorns you can roll an ankle if you aren’t careful. Many get eaten but many more sprout all over the damn place.
try a yard rake or just leave them alone

My son picks them up.
In the spring I get tiny oaks popping up in random places.

I have a hickory tree. Squirrels do a number on them. We mulch the rest but it takes a while. Probably would be better to clean up.

That's not very nice.
She looks like she could make a good pitcher of sweet tea and lemon cake.

Find some of your friends that are Deer hunters and tell them that you would love for them to come get them for their properties. Have them over, cook some burgers and let them get at it. Win Win for all involved.
