Reds tops in saving on Electricity Prices

Getting ridiculous. Up to $0.18/kwh in my area for average price.
$300+ bills in summer are the new norm.
Tips on saving electricity? For reference used ~2100 kwh this last cycle. Nothing crazy.
Thinking about double paned windows and spray foam insulation improvements.

Mine has been UNGODLY at my camp. We aren’t even there most of the month. I can’t wait to see ideas because I need them.

I've saved about $60/month by installing a Nest thermostat and setting a schedule for when the AC is low/high. Before, I would forget to change it before leaving for work or leave it low when leaving for a few days, etc. During the day, it's set at 73. At night, it's set at 69.

.18 is high. The price for the camp (Demco) is under .097 per kWh

Started paying attention to electricity prices when I got an EV. My bills got higher. But I keep track of the bills for utilities in our small HOA and the cost to run two lights has gone up 45%. So I'm not blaming it on the EV.
Inflation.
Inflation.

Will take many years for that to pay for itself

If you follow the guidelines, your bill will be under $90.

Get a decent dehumidifier and a couple of floor fans. Dry the air and move it. It helps.

What’s the point of ac then? Just run the fan and open all the windows at night to achieve those numbers

78 degrees is cooler than 97.

Everyone likes to shite on solar panels, but I've had them about 5 years now, and they've probably paid for themselves at this point.
I don't have the battery backups, those are still way overpriced, but I would do them in a heartbeat if they come down to Earth.

If it’s 82 your arse ain’t sleeping

Those numbers are ridiculous, but unless you are a complete fat arse, you don’t need the thermostat in the 60’s either

It is recommended to sleep in mid 60s for most people. You achieve more restful sleep. I consider that worth the extra $.
