I have moles, lads. I hate killing things but I realize this is the only way.

Does anyone have advice for not being sad when I have to kill vermin like this?

Why don’t you just get a couple cats and let them live with the emotional fallout.

As a kid I made a few dollars setting mole traps in neighbors' lawns. The traps were the kind that drove a spring-loaded plate of spikes into the ground. Ghastly as it sounds, the mole was usually still alive when I checked the trap in the morning. I learned to dig the trap up along with the mole. A shovel between head and body ended the suffering. Just get the job done and move on. These days, I just enjoy keeping track of the mole runs.

I use the gas sticks. I hope they all die a slow agonizing death.

You can always go drop them off at other places in the woods. Hawks and Owls love them some moles.

Why would you be sad. If you don’t kill them they will destroy your yard

To help solve your dilemma, you may consider putting out Sevin dust and killing their food source. That way you don't have to kill those little fvckers. My neighbor uses this approach and has a good luck.

Yes. It's a mole. Get over it if you want to have a nice lawn, if it bothers you too much, then have a crappy lawn. Or get a couple cats. Moles will be gone in no time.
