Used to be a decent place to buy lawn equipment.

I know the one in Metairie on Vets in the Clearview Shopping Center is closing, if not already closed.
I'm sure there are some still open, but it won't be long before they are all shut down.
You can buy Craftsman tools at Home Depot and Lowes now.

What is left of Seats is not worth walking in the doors...

It does not. Some Sears Home Stores still exist, though for the life of me I don’t know how or why.

Still amazes me how they went from top to bottom.

It was all rebranded equipment anyway I think.

They are opening a new store in Lafayette.

Craftsman lawn equipment has been rebadged MTD stuff for years. Now Lowes sells it along with Craftsman branded tools. I think it will eventually become the house brand, phasing out Kobalt. Might even kill off Porter-Cable since DeWalt, Porter-Cable, and Craftsman 20V cordless tools are all made in the same factories under Stanley Black and Decker and I don't see the need for two sub-premium lines.

Sears in BR is still rolling at the Mall of Louisiana, and there is the new store they are opening in Lafayette. As other posters said, Craftsman is now at Lowe's too and in some cases the Lowe's variety is better stuff. Worth checking out and comparing for yourself though. Bottom floor in BR.

I've never found that stuff to work in my experience. My wife used to put it all around our house and I saw just as many of them

Don't buy a Kenmore frig. My mother bought a frig on 6/29/18 from the Sears Clearview store. In April the frig started freezing up and not cooling. Called Sears warranty office, they sent out a technician. He tried to order parts to fix, but parts are on backorder with no info on when they will be available. I have to go to her house about once a week to defrost to keep it working. She has been told by warranty people that they are working on getting approval for new replacement frig, but they have been giving her the runaround for the last few weeks. They are trying to stretch it out to get it past one year warranty period.

There’s a Sears “Hometown Store” in Picayune. Picked up a dishwasher from there. They have a lot of the basics for lawn and home equipment/appliances.
ETA it’s similar to the one that used to be in Covington in that shopping center.
