I am in middle of bathroom remodel and need to get some rainhead cans and shower systems etc. I am trying hard to stay away from all this low flow crap, because I am evil person who plans on being long dead before the great environmental collapse.

Any advice or recommendations on places between New Orleans and Pensacola where you can see all this stuff and maybe someone can explain difference between thermostat control and flow regulation etc. Any advice appreciated.

Floor Decor in Harahan already saved me a small fortune

All plumbing supply houses (not home depot or lowes) have the same catalog of products from the big manufacturers, but when I was in plumbing almost all of our high dollar jobs used Southland plumbing in Mandeville

As for flow and temperature controls they do exactly as they are named regarding showers

You can get them from The Internet cheaper than any of those stores. Have your husband remove the flow-restricting rubber grommet before he installs it.

Buy what you want and pull out the plastic low-flow piece.

Facets on 190 in Covington. They even have working showers set up with the computer controls.

Facets and Tammany Supply are one and the same, and where I would recommend. Great selection of items available to see (and try.) Careful though, I ended up falling for a fantastic Jaclo 16x16 flush mount rain shower head there that is a budget blower lol

We did a major kitchen and master bath remodel 3 years ago and looked at Plumbing Warehouse and Coburn Supply. Both had knowledgeable staff. For our shower we bought Delta from PW.

It has a large shower head with hand held. I can put on both with no loss of pressure. With both on water stream is at least 18" wide. I don't know if it is the fixture or the 1" supply line to my house that allows this.

Shower has two control levers one for temperature control and a second for volume control. You set the temperature control to what you like. You turn on the shower and in 10-15 seconds the shower temp. is perfect.

It also prevents instant temp. changes like when flushing a toilet.

We also retrofitted a bidet to our existing toilet. A game changer for the good.
