I’ve heard some poo pooing on Celsius with Dallis. In my experience it works on Dallis better than it works on VBW.

your screwed like me!

best plan of action would be Celcius or sethoxydim to suppress it... i pull out any i see, but you wont be able to get rid of it.

My backyard gets worse by the day with this shite. I had the front yard somewhat in control, but it’s slipping as well.

I've been having good luck with spot spraying dallis with glyphosate in the fall. I still have some work to do, but I'm making progress.

My thinking was that all the dead spots in the lawn wouldn't look so bad for long because the grass would go dormant soon and the whole yard would be brown anyway. Those dead spots are now filling in with grass.

Spent a whole season digging it up in Nashville in my Bermuda lawn.

Next season bought MSMA and had a fairway lawn.

Buy MSMA and call it a day. As others have said, the absolute GOAT for Bermuda.

I pulled a trashbag full of Dallis and crab grass a couple of weeks ago while the ground was wet. If you are patient, you can get the crazy long roots coming up with them. I filled in the spots and the st. Aug is mostly filled them in by now.

It might be temporary, but for a couple of hours of work it looks much better for now.

I havent seen any VBW yet, but I know that is going to be my next foe. Celsius is ready for those frickers as soon as I see them.

Totally understand that and you are 100% correct. That’s exactly what it says. It suppressed mine then and it didn’t come back. Nor the crabgrass. Seems like with these weed killing sprays there is always mixed reviews on all of them. Some people have success with one brand and others don’t. I got lucky because I’ve had to spray Roundup on it and or dig the stuff up in other homes I’ve lived in throughout my life.

Some will tell you that you are a criminal. But here is the deal.

MSMA is literally the only thing that will knock it out.

There are others who will say this or that will work, but MSMA will torch that in just a couple days.

Dig it up or MSMA

There is no reason for MSMA to be a banned substance other than the gubment thinks they know more than you.

A few notes.
-use dye if you don’t wanna treat the whole yard.
-it’s best when temps are in the 90s

Figured you Baws would get a kick out of this. A once picturesque back yard now looks like a goddamn war zone thanks to this damn weed. And it’s still everywhere.

Yeah, I was coming here to settle the difference. Celsius can kill Dallisgrass. Water can kill it too. Too much of anything can kill it. If you go higher than label rate then yes you can kill it. It will also kill your grass. It doesn't sound that like happened. If you used label rate then it suppressed it and your grass was thick enough to choke it out. I got rid of the only Dallisgrass I had in my bermuda lawn by mowing every other day, no chemicals.

To the certainty question. I've seen it do about the same amount of work as Celsius.

I have had pretty good luck mixing certainty and Celsius. It works pretty well, but still comes back

Give it a hot shot of MSMA, the Bermuda will burn, but be back strong as ever in 3 weeks. Hit the lawn with some 13-13-13 right before the next rain (a week or two after the MSA application.

well it kills crabgrass.

my opinion Dallis is very very easy to paint round up on... kill it then pull it up. or even just pull it up when you see it.

now Torpedo... they need to develop something that kills that spawn of satan that works on centepede/staug

Sethoxydim will nuke the dallisgrass and leave your centipede unharmed.

Yours looks like mine right now. I’ve fought this vile weed for a month now. At this point I’m just hoping I can kill enough grass that my wife agrees to just concrete the whole thing. shite, I’d probably come out cheaper just putting in a pool….

Celsius made mine go away. I sprayed it twice. It’s gone. Didn’t come back either this spring.

Is it possible they were realitively "young" plants that hadn't established a strong root system?
