Best washer that’s not Speed Queen

Whirlpool gets high marks, just don't expect it to last 20 years. Hell, 10 years is iffy.

I'm on year 10 of a Cabrio, and it's on its third set of drum bearings, plus a few other misc parts.

My old Kenmore Elites performed nicely for over 15 years. Recently crapped out. I got more Kenmore Elites. I'm pleased with so far.

We've got LG. They are cheaply made, dents all over it (wife standing on it to get something off the top shelf in the LR), make weird noises. It was my wife's choice and she paid for them so I wasn't going to question it. So in a very few years I'm planning on going back with Maytag. We had those for 15 years and with the exception of the drum bearings that I replaced once, they were great.

i also have a top loading maytag with an agitator that i really like, try to get one . it may not last as long as my old simple kenmore but man it is so much more quiet.

Whirlpool dryer, model WED49STBW, this model has a drop down door that I prefer to a swing door because the drop down door doubles as sort of a work shelf when adding or removing clothes. This model also has a steam setting which I think is sort of odd and unnecessary, and I don't like the idea of connecting a water hose from the washing machine cold water hose to the dryer. So, I did not run a water hose to the dryer, and we don't use that setting on the dial. Whirlpool has two 7-cu.ft. dryer models with a swing door (as opposed to drop down door) and no steam setting for about $50 less.

We really like the washer and dryer a lot.

Maytag

I got the Maytag Commercial

I have LG. Both work awesome. My wife does at least 2 loads a day. Front load has little magnet that props door open so it doesn't stink at all. Avoid top load GE like the plague.

The parts are interchangeable when you go to repair them. The parts are cheap and easy to fix. I kept my Whirlpool alive for a long time until the mother board went out.

We have an LG top load high efficiency that is fantastic. Had it for almost 6 years now and no issues(knock on wood). It's huge. It spins so fast that the clothes are mostly dry when you put em in the dryer.
