Any ideas on how to thin out geckos around the house?

Talking to our exterminator, he said he'd be a millionaire if he had a spray to kill them.
Found suggestions online that geckos dont like certain scents and you can spray those to keep them away. Tried it and it didn't work. (Peppermint)
I know there no quick fix but just looking for ideas that yall may have tried that helped because we are being overrun over here. They get in the house any time I let the dog out to potty. They shite all over everything.
Was gonna buy one of those asalt guns but I dont think they are strong enough to kill the geckos.

Remove their food source.
ETA the fun answer. Get a blow gun and start sticking them.

Like the others say, they gather up around lights at night to eat bugs. Either turn the lights off or tolerate the geckos. I think they are pretty cool little creatures, personally….

They're overrunning my house too. It sucks because when I open the back door to let the dog out, they run in the door jam and get smashed.
I've resorted to spraying bug spray around the door to kill their food source, and I also climb out my living room window into the sunroom first to knock them off the door before I open it for the dogs.

Not scientifically studied or even googled...
Get you some crazy ants. They run off pretty much everything else.
We had a nasty scorpion problem pre-crazy ants. Geckos too. All gone now.

Pemetherin around all points of entry to keep the bugs away, otherwise you're stuck with em.

We use glue traps under furniture and in corners.
Also put copper mesh in your weep holes.

I want as many as my house can support.

It's either geckos or frogs that shite all over my window sills on my pack patio and on the walls in my garage.

Interesting. We haven't noticed this. Not sure where my fleet of geckos is shitting.

I rarely see geckos but we have a thriving crop of anoles and skinks. The skinks especially are bug eating machines, I’ve seen a few that look Jurassic…big red headed bull mfers.
all harmless and a sign of a healthy ecosystem

Got those too. Always amazed how big the skinks get.

I started putting glue traps in my shed. I’m tired of them shitting everywhere.

by the way, the “house gecko” is an invasive species. These:
The green/brown lizards with the red throat pouch are green anoles, and are native. There is another invasive lizard that is crowding out the anoles confusingly called the brown anole which arrived in Florida and is spreading rapidly.
If you see these, kill them

Oh I try bc they shite all over my window sills and porches but those mfers are way faster than the green anoles.

The geckos may be eating your roaches.

A dog. If I find one inside I try to get it out fast. Otherwise it becomes a snack if she catches it. Geckos used to be plentiful hanging out on my carport ceiling after dark, but not so many these days. They eat bugs so I give them a pass.

We don't have the brown lizards yet.
