I'm just terrified that if I let it expire I'll find termite damage soon afterwards. I've already treated the perimeter with Taurus SC, which is the generic for Termidor, but I just don't know what I don't know and for all I know I could've done it wrong.

If you dug a correct trench and mixed it correctly, you have nothing to worry about. It takes a long time for regular termites to do damage. If u havent seen a swarm yet, you simply dont have them.
Theoretically, if u were to spot a swarm next year, the damage would be minimal to nothing with regular termites.
Formosan termites are another story, but they are rare and applying a ground barrier wont stop them, anyway.

I think that's the majority of termites in south Louisiana.

$400 for annual termite contract renewal?
This is way too high for a simple renewal. You should be in the $100-$200/yr for that kind of service, unless you have some unusual circumstance. Happy to recommend someone if you're in the NOLA GMA.

What does the guarantee actually provide? Will they fix your house if you get infested?

I had terminix for my last house and was paying more than that. I built a new house and used the company that treated the slab and only pay $150 annually.
ETA: Also on the new house, I put a 1' crushed limestone barrier around the entire slab of the house.
Termite companies love to see that - plus it looks great.

I use James Wilson pest control and it's $120 a year.

That's the price...I believe it comes with a guarantee if I'm not mistaken
Ours is $220 annually and it is guaranteed. I have no problems for the piece of mind, but $400 is excessive unless you have a 10000 sq ft home (mine is 2400).

Who is your guy in Lafayette?
He's good and cheap. Way cheaper than anyone else I've priced. My house is on piers and he climbs under it and reapplies poison every year. This is the second house I had termite damage and he blew the competition away on price.

My house was treated in 2009 with termidor by terminix and i renew the contract annually for about $300. 2000sq ft house. I've seen catastrophic formosan damage first hand so I'm going to keep renewing forever. I understand getting sick of paying for it but the guarantee is the best one out there for covering treatment+damage.

I'm with J&J in nola area. $268/year. Ive thought about switching companies, but starting over means all new installation/treatment with accompanying costs.
J&J probably as good as anyone else. They are half assed until you ask for a more thorough inspection. Then they do a pretty good job.
Not sure their service area or where you live.

DA Exterminating. They’re based out of Metairie but are in a few other nearby areas. I’ve been with them for years and appreciate how thorough they are. Plus I like how they are a local company and have been in business for decades. Give them a call.
FYI- I’m pretty sure they use the damage guarantee contract as well.

That’s high and Terminix sucks.

Any recs for an independent company in Baton Rouge?

The contract I had only covered treatment. Not to fix the house. The treatment is basically the same as the prevention but mixed stronger. I'm wondering if any of these prices people are getting quoted cover damage.

I just got a terminx quote for $2k for the 1st year and $400 each year after for 100% guarantee up to the appraised value of the home. The house is 4,000 sq ft. That just seems crazy. My last house was $300 for 2,500 sq ft by a local company.
Anyone else seen quotes this high?

Anybody do it themselves? Order some bait and stick it in the little holes ever six months? Seems easy enough.
I bought a fogger and just use it every year under house and deck, kills everything.
