I have both DA and J&J coming out next week to provide quotes for NOLA home. Will let y'all know how they compare...

FYI to the extent you GAF; this is for a fairly standard elevated home in NOLA:

J&J Exterminating:

Install cost: $940
Annual monitoring: $275
Contract w/ damage coverage? Yes (up to $25,000)

DA Exterminating:
Install cost: $1,150
Annual monitoring: $250
Contract w/ damage coverage? NO (due to being an elevated over c/space home)

ETA: both the above quotes are for installing the "current" Sentricon system and monitoring; it does not include liquid treatment (which is more expensive).

I'm dealing with Formosan termites now at my office. Guy came buy to kill them yesterday, they are in 4 different rooms. Took him all of about 15 minutes to just spray poison where they were coming out of the walls. There's a large crack in our warehouse they came through the first office and hallway that's along the warehouse where that crack is located.

2 weeks ago there was absolutely nothing, maybe a 12 days ago I noticed some small pinholes in the drywall in one room and just thought I had never seen them before. Monday they were coming out of the walls and building exterior tunnels in 4 rooms.

He basically told me to pound sand on the repairs. Its all non load bearing framed walls around my warehouse. I haven't read the contract yet, should cost me under $2500 in repairs unless its worse than I thought.

hope this guy knew what he was doing because when my friend had formosan termites the company came out and made him remove all the sheetrock so they could remove the nest in the wall

I have heard the same re: actually collecting on those damage contracts. So, while a company offering the damage contract is preferable, you will likely need to go the legal route to collect on it.
