Part of me wants to start my tomatoes and peppers tomorrow and another part of me wants to rip up my raised beds.

I'll be planting a lot more melons this year will probably only do 8-10 tomato plants and 8-10 peppers

Started peppers today. It's the most wonderful time of the year.

What kinds? Mine are from there, too. I've had good luck with the small trellis melons. I have kajari, model, sakata, and a few others I don't rek3mber.

those plus a few others I just ordered one or two of most of the small melons. Should be fun. We had great success with cantaloupe last year but I’m wanting something different

I'm doing two square foot raised beds this year, all from seed, except for the green onions, cilantro, and tabasco pepper plant:
- 3 squares cabbage THEN lima beans once harvested
- 3 squares lettuce THEN lima beans once harvested
- 3 squares kale
- 6 squares butternut squash (trellised)
- 2 squares green onions
- 1 square cilantro
- 4 squares hot cherry peppers
- 1 square tabasco pepper
- 3 squares lima beans THEN cabbage once harvested

What grow lights are you all using? I have a couple Sunco 4' lights and need to get a few more. I have been looking at the Kingplus lights. Anyone have them or have other recommendations?

I have a Durolux DLED8048W which I think has been discontinued. I’ve had it for a few years now and no problems. This one on Amazon looks identical. Probably all made in the same factory in china.

We have several different brands of grow lights, I really like the Spider Farmer lights.

How'd y'all do in the snow and cold? I had my cabbage and onions covered, but I'm worried the weight of the snow and then wet damaged them. Hopefully they'll bounce back after a couple weeks of normal weather.

Uncovered yesterday. Strawberries look fine. Lost some fruit but plants are in good condition. Lettuce, carrots, spinach, and garlic did fine. Same concern on the onions but hoping this wet weather will help perk them up.

Hardware store had seed potatoes on the sign today so countdown has begun to President’s Day.

I left my baby romaine, cabbage, garlic, and carrot sprouts exposed.

They actually look better after the snow than they did before. I was shocked.

I covered cauliflower and Brussel sprouts. Brussel sprouts look great but cabbage looking kind of gray and I don’t expect them to recover.

Lemon grass bit the dust.

Not plants, but if anyone is wondering, chickens are freaking indestructible. No heater. No insulation. Laying tons of eggs through the snow.

I didn't have much in the garden to begin with. A few cabbages, carrots, strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries. I know all of the berries will be fine even though they look dead at the moment (except for the strawberries, which are still green). Carrot tops look a little wilted but I'm sure they're ok. I've been harvesting some here and there. And if I lose the remaining cabbages that's ok. I've had about enough.

The one time I had it, it was killed completely. I gave it lots of time. Anything below 15* is fatal.
