Any advice on how to get rid of black spots on tomato leaves?

It's June. Just accept that with the heat, your tomatoes will go downhill. I clip off blighted leaves and just hope to stretch the season as much as I can.

Went out last night and caught ANOTHER rat red handed. Locked eyes as he was munching a almost ripe tomato.

i'm having issues with pollinators. they don't seem to be present. i've been hand pollinating my whole garden and its been pointless. i did notice since the start that i have tiny black ants that are always in the center of the flowers (both the male and female). can this be the problem? are they robbing the pollen before anything can pollinate the flowers? i always left them alone because i thought they were beneficial, but now I'm beginning to wonder. any experience with this?

My late season plight has been caterpillars of all sorts...had to nit the nuke button and spray sevin. Found a handful of tomato plants hit hard. I'd rather that not turn into lost tomatoes.

I weeded in between some rows this weekend and when I got home today. Put a pretty good dent on it. Just have the squash row left to do. The weeds were chock full of cutworms.

Any of you guys use Preen to keep weeds from emerging after your garden seeds are up? Looking for something besides me and my two hands pulling weeds through the summer.

mulch and lots of it. It get a tandem load of shredded bark from the sawmill dumped about every two years, and spread it liberally

I have a dedicated pollinator (attracting) garden. But my cantaloupes! Vines everywhere, flowers everywhere. No fruits yet. I guess I need to dive into the hand pollinating thing? (That was weird to type)

I noticed this as well when I went to hand pollinate squash. Nothing came off and ants down in the flower. I can’t get any pollen off of an eggplant bloom either.

Those small ants can act as pollinators. They’re just not the best at the job.

Could try hitting it with a peroxide spray. But yeah, pretty much this.

What makes pepper leaves look variegated? I am guessing water one way or the other?

I was as well. I had nothing early on, then i'd have 1 bumblebee that woudl be there most mornings that started about 6 weeks ago. Yesterday was the first day i saw an actual honeybee on my cucumbers, which actually look really great right now despite the heat.

I dont think those little black ants are taking all the pollen. They sometimes appear when you have aphids b/c the aphids leave a sweet secretion on the plants that the ants like.

Mixed results with the Preen. Tried the all natural stuff from Dixondale farms and about the same result wise. Perhaps the seeds had already germinated before application. I pretty much rely on cardboard and mulch at this point.

Tomatoes are slowing down. I'm about to pull all of my squash and cucumber plants. Peppers are just starting to really come on in droves though. Here's a harvest from yesterday afternoon:

after looking into bee boxes last week, I came across bee houses meant for solitary bees or mason bees as they call them. I'm thinking about getting a couple of those to put near the garden in hopes that it'll attract and keep them close by.

Cardboard and mulch for me. I use it on both the beds and pathways. Crabgrass still creeps in through the seams but it's 95% effective.

This is what I've used in the back yard as a pre-emergent. Not sure what the ingredient in preen is, but this is prodiamine.

How do I get rid of these damn things? I used some captain jacks with Spinosad but it did absolutely nothing to them.

I’m about to go around with my mini blow torch and light them up
