TyTy nursery in Georgia. Close to me here in SC. I’ve ordered several fruit tree/shrubs from them. Bare root and shipped well protected.

Nah. Columbia. I just meant the nursery being in Georgia was close to me compared to other big nurseries that carry uncommon fruit trees/shrubs.

Note to self, the green bean poles from stines does not hold up cucumbers in a storm...

Question for anyone who has grown sunflowers. How do you know when the seeds are ready to be harvested? Most of these are starting to firm up and the flower is definitely dying.

And here’s some of my pickings from the past couple of days.

I’ve never grown them, but from my understanding once the flower fully dries out the seeds will easily fall out.

How are you liking the Carmens? Candy in the form of a pepper.

They are really good. A lot sweeter than I expected. I grilled some last week and they were delicious like that.

Thanks. So the first time I used the copper fungicide it was blue, now a week later it is brown.

Can't find anything saying that is a good or bad thing. Does it degrade or go bad?

How are you storing it? I've read about that happening when storing it at high temperatures. Apparently when stored in high temps it becomes unstable and turns brown. I would toss it.

Garage. Non climate controlled. That'll do it.

Hmmm, interesting. I've had that shite sitting on a shelf on my carport where it's readily available for use, and never paid attention to the color of it. Wonder if it's actually doing me any good in my garden right now...lol!

Note to self: When planting lima beans(King of the Garden), give them a lot of space. Things take over everything in the garden

Ditto for me. First time I’ve grown and eaten Carmen peppers. Will be a permanent fixture in the vegetable garden for me now.

Hey Pillage

I know you have the squirrel problem under control but have those sunflowers protected if you dry them outside. Squirrels love them some sunflower seeds.

I had some drying on a shelf and the damn things ate all of them before I could give the seeds to them.

Carmens are one of my favorite peppers and very productive. If you guys like those, I'd recommend checking out Corno di Toro Giallo peppers. They're basically yellow carmens. They taste just as good and add some color to whatever you're cooking.

Oh yeah, I cut the stem about a foot below the flower and hung it upside down inside my pantry.

Anybody have issues growing Better Boy tomatoes? Years ago when I lived in the country I planted one in the ground and always said it was the best tomatoes I've ever had. I now live in the city and have a raised garden. I've tried to force it, every year planting a BB and they are consistently my weakest plant. Pretty much always get Septoria leaf spot.

I spray with Daconil and my other tomato plants do fine, they have some mild leaf spot but not progressing much. Although I have quite a few tomatoes on the BB, leaf spot is working it's way up pretty bad. I do rotate my plants in the raised bed every year. I've got 2 super one hundreds, a celebrity, a BB, 2 sweet banana peppers, and 2 cucumbers. All the other plants are fine, except for the BB. One of my 100s has mild leaf spot.
