Wife wants a Peloton, but open to knockoffs if they're solid. Any suggestions?

Is the Costco one any good? Any experience with others?

The user that bought his wife one for Christmas. I hear it isn’t getting much use.

I would say forget the knockoffs and get the Peloton. It's a better piece of equipment by a lot.

Just get a fluid trainer for $250. $15 iPad holder for the handle bars and you’ve got a Peloton my man.

if your wife is anything like my wife, just get her the Peloton, because if the knockoff is even slightly worse than what she wants, she'll never use it and you will eventually end up getting the Peloton anyways

Be prepared to buy a Peloton. There are others out there that likely are just as good if not better but you will be getting a Peloton.

We have a Peloton, from what I can gather it's far superior to any of the other models out there.

This and I'd also say more people she knows will have the Peloton and she can "compete" with them.

I had the same situation. Rather than spend $2500 on a Peloton bike I gave my wife $1000 and told her to go buy whatever stationary bike she wanted. She pays monthly for the Peloton app on her iPad and put the iPad on her bike when she rides. You’re paying a premium for the Peloton bike for name recognition.

Schwinn IC4

Like Peloton, this Schwinn IC4 Indoor Cycling Bike ($899.99) uses magnetic resistance and offers 100 levels of resistance (note: levels differ from Peloton’s, though). There’s a built-in holder on the handlebars where you can place a tablet or phone to stream workouts, a USB outlet for charging and an arm-strap heart-rate monitor.

It is. We had a Bowflex bike before we got the Peloton. The Bowflex was inferior in every way.

The Schwinn is a re-badged Bowflex. Pass.

I ride one at the gym, the hardware definitely seems a much higher quality than even the Nordictrack version.

Salmon, I know you’re a pretty active dude. You ever use it for a workout?

Buy a gym membership, not a bike.
