Why are Mr. Olympia Body Builders so respected?
They are all steroid using trash.

Morons in the weightlifting/body building community, revere these guys like Ronnie Coleman as gods, even though they are all steroid using frauds with unattractive bubble guts

None of these guys would be anything without their juice

I only respect naturals

I wouldn’t call them trash, but you can’t reach that kind of physique naturally.

Because they still had to work their arse off to get to where they are. Steroids don't make you that big without some serious hard work and dedication.

Also this. Those guys still had to follow a very strict and brutal diet and workout routine. It is not an easy path by any means.

I think 99% of guys who work out don't aspire to look like current Olympians but you still have to recognize the insane work ethic and discipline and complete disregard for your own health that it takes to win at that level

This plus (even with the large amount drugs) to be at that level requires elite bodybuilding genetics.

Lol sooo dumb. I know guys that compete. If you think they inject a few drugs and blow up, you are a fool. Shite takes time, along with a strict diet, and killing yourself in the gym. No doubt its impossible without drugs, but if you think its so easy, try it and let us know how you do

I have zero interest in looking like anything close to a top level body builder, but I respect the hard work they put in.

They do look like cartoon characters, however.

You’re starting to see a shift, though. Judges are getting tired of the mass monsters with the big guts and shite conditioning. They’re starting to push more for the classic physique, like Arnold and the guys from his generation. They like the the big, broad well defined upper body and the small waist. Creates that iconic V shape that we all know.

I recognize the hard work and dedication, but not sure if respect is the right word

I think it’s one of the most ridiculous competitions and job out there. Making yourself look like a monster while also making your body very unhealthy

They made a concious decision and accepted the risks to achieve a goal. Why would I look down on them because of that? Drugs are used in bodybuilding. They always have been.

The drugs enhance the training program and diet, but it doesn’t eliminate their need. The drugs alone don’t create the physique.

Because you have to really hit the weights and diet like a freak to get to that level.

Yes, they need the juice, but the juice allows you to push your body past its normal lifting limits....

of course, it comes at a price and that is putting it mildly.
