I guess I just don't care enough to squeeze out the last 1% of body fat.
I eat relatively healthy as it is, lots of fruits and vegetables and very little sweets (maybe 1 dessert a week), and lots of protein. However, if I want a pizza then dammit I'm eating a pizza. I have great respect to y'all who count your macros and portion out stuff for each meal, but I just think I would be miserable doing that.

I find that when I don't try and follow something the weight really creeps up on me.
I don't care too much about macros but I do track my calories now. You can easily cheat when you know how many calories you have left that day. Also, skipping breakfast makes it much easier to have a few beers in the evening.

I do this
And this
I count my macros and try to he really strict everyday, but if a buddy calls me up and wants to go grab Johnny's buffet on Sunday then I go. I don't feel guilty about it because I have eaten clean everyday before that and eat clean after as well.

I don't follow a diet as much as I track calories/macros through MyFitnessPal.
It's really not that bad. You figure out quick how to fill your day with healthy, filling foods versus junk. And you just plan ahead if you're going to have a pizza type day.

Me
I might eat something fried once a week and eat pizza on leg days
But other than that we just eat healthy and fresh foods.
I'm not competing so I'm not worried about super low body fat.
I eat and train for preformance rather than astetics. Thing is the astetics will still come.

I didn't until I started tracking macros on myfitness pal, just from an overall health and energy standpoint I've felt much better during the week. I was eating healthy just not right.
but on weekends I don't really bother tracking and eat/drink whatever I want.

What's this myfitnesspal thing

It's an app that helps you track your calories and macros throughout the day. They'll give you your recommended calorie count based on your gender, weight, fitness level, and whether you want to lose/maintain/gain weight. It has a huge database of foods because of its popularity and you can sync your other apps to it (like FitBit, MapMyFitness, etc.).
There's a premium subscription with it but it's not necessary IMO. Plenty of utilities in the free portion of the app.

I run about 30 miles a week. I eat mostly what I want on the weekends and eat clean during the week.

<-----
I always say that the day I track calories or macros is the day I swallow a shot gun
Maybe I'll have to do it when I get older (currently 33), but right now having those lower abs just isn't worth it to me

No way in hell I would have been able to lose my 85 lbs without this app. I tried for YEARS to lose weight and was never able to until I got serious about counting calories. This app actually let me plan my meals ahead of time so I knew exactly which portions to eat after inputting my excerises as well.
Eta: The app also gives you the option to set to add 1 or 2 lbs a week. It will tell you how many calories to eat depending on how well you track your workout.

Yea myfitness pal is awesome but their standard macro and calorie settings suck but the custom macros is great.

I just try to follow the simple rule of:
Everything in moderation

I've fallen off the counting wagon since hitting my goal, but I do try to be mindful. Like someone else said, I find that it creeps back up if I don't.
Even when I was tracking every calorie, I still ate pizza when I wanted it. I still got drunk on weekends. I'm just lucky that a hangover means a solid day of avoiding food the next day so it evens out. Especially if my hangover is from more than just alcohol
That being said, that is NOT a healthy way to live and I'm reigning my summer party self back in currently.
